The Flower Challenge #102 - May 2025 - Add Spots or Stripes

It is May, and time for the Flower Challenge to challenge you!
This month it's Add spots or stripes.

Splatters are my 'spots' on the background.

My flowers are The Greetery's Botanicuts: Hibiscus. I also added Botanicuts:
Monstera Leaf and Fern. Mostly sponge daubing on the Monstera leaf with
re-inkers.

A new month a new challenge. Hope to see your card on the blog!

The Flower Challenge June: Use Our Sketch

The Flower Challenge is back for June with a new challenge for you.
Use Our Sketch is the theme.

Here's some inspiration for you

I used some fabulous dies from The Greetry's Urban Jungle collection
for a birthday card.

As we're approaching summer, I chose hibiscus as my theme flower.
Hope you chose your favorite flower and play along!

The Flower Challenge Make a Square Card

Hello March! For this month, the Flower Challenge wants you to create
a square card.

We leave winter for a peek at summer with the Hibiscus flower from The Greetery.
With the basket weave stencil in the  background, I inked die cuts and added a
birthday greeting.

Hope you're thinking square with this month's challenge. Can't wait to see
what you create!

The Card Concept Summer: Tropical Treats

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Card Concept, Summer edition. Yes,
this year, with all it's Covid Sheltering, some of us at the Card Concept
decided to continue with our challenges instead of taking the summer off.
Want to join the fun?
Here's our inspiration photo:
Irrisistably delicious inspiration, isn't it?

The colors of course, always inspire, and I loved the floral elements too.

Hope you can find some time to create a card and join the fun.
Choose a style or create one of your own. We love seeing what you do!

The amazingly beautiful hibiscus blooms for one day, then closes for the others.
This one, graces my garden, and is 8 to 9" in diameter!

Also adding my card to the latest Flower Challenge Summer/Winter.
My card... definitely summer!
We're celebrating all things summer here in my valley!

Hope your summer is off to a great start! A safe one too!

You

Hello! Hope you're enjoying summer's end, and are looking forward to cooler
weather. I know I am!

I'm playing along with a couple of challenges, Altenew's August Inspiration Challenge

and, The Flower Challenge, Use your Favorite Flower.

My favorite flower at the moment is a new plant added to my yard,
Midnight Rose Hibiscus.

I have seen hibiscus before, but never this size or color. When I brought home the plant
(I bought 3) it was about 2' high and had a couple of bud groupings.

Honestly, would you ever believe these buds would open into such a
magnificent bloom? 1st bloom measured 9".

So for today (only today, I'm fickle with favorites!) my favorite flower is the Hibiscus.

Altenew's  Hibiscus Garden 3D was all cut from white cardstock, and Copic colored.
I tried to keep as close to my Midnight Rose as possible. The die set comes with the greens
you see pictured here, and the smaller bloom I colored in purples to mimic the
Allysum planted in the pots with the Hibiscus.
The background started out with an A2 sized card, white, covered with
Altenew's watercolor washi. I added sprays and white paint droplets, then
cut the card with MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

'You' from PTI's Bold Borders: Arabesque. I doubled the diecut with gold for a little
glam.

The Hibiscus flower has gorgeous textured veins. I tried to add that look by streaking
my die cut with the Copic pens.

Altenew asks us, 'how were you inspired by the photo?'
Just about everything from the photo inspired me! Colors, soft fadeout greens, water
droplets... and May gave us a beautiful watercolor tutorial too!

2 challenges, one card. Love it when that happens!

Have a blessed week!
