The Flower Challenge Make a Square Card

Hello March! For this month, the Flower Challenge wants you to create
a square card.

We leave winter for a peek at summer with the Hibiscus flower from The Greetery.
With the basket weave stencil in the  background, I inked die cuts and added a
birthday greeting.

Hope you're thinking square with this month's challenge. Can't wait to see
what you create!

Toaster Valentines

I have always had a thing for all things vintage, and loved The Greetery for
spotlighting the sweetness of aged goodies. Their toaster die has just the
right 'kitchy' vibe for a couple of valentines.

Using mirror cardstock, the aqua toaster is 'poppin' with love!
To make the heart background, I created a stencil using Greetery's Falling Hearts
 background die.

I used the reversed dies for the 2nd toaster card, this time my toaster's hot pink, still
popping with love.
The sentiments are a combo of Tear Strip Tags Valentine,  and Hearts at Home
Sentiments.

So much fun to create, they're off to a couple of special grands!

The Flower Challenge #87 Use Gold

Perfect timing to Use Gold at the Flower Challenge!
Happy Holidays crafters, and welcome to a new card challenge at TFC,
featuring a favorite flower on a card.

My card to inspire you features the magnolia wreath from The Greetery,
die cut twice: once from green, and once again from a striped paper.
The green started it's life plain and dull. I used Tim Holtz mica sprays to
bring out the shine!

The magnolia is also a new die from The Greetery, but I only used the smallest petal die
for my flower.

Let's see what you do with the challenge to 'Use Gold'. Our challenges are all month,
and end on the 25th. Enjoy, sweet friends!

Merry Christmas!

Recollections of Christmas

Finally had time  to dive into the Greetery's newest release, 'Recollective Holiday'.
Betsy has outdone herself, again, with this holiday collection of vintage vibes.

I went with a redwork theme for this card, featuring the fabulous bow set against
the stenciled Fair Isle background.

Closeup of the bow die  cut with  shimmer paper.

Went overboard with my Greetery order,  and just catching up to
creating with all the goodies!
Happy holidays, friends!

Apple Pie, Anyone?

Hello friends! Of all  the vehicles to show card craft making, posting on my
blog is my favorite. I get to show you the how's and the what's, including lots
of details, my favorite part of creating a card!

The Greetery's latest,  Harvest Fest, came fast, and I've been playing with it
ever since! The pie die got my attention during the release, and I watched
Angelica's video 3 times! So full of ideas!

My first 4 'pies', baked and ready for cards.

No. 5 pie begged for a card, so I went with apple, added some cinnamon
spice, and Granny Smith apples, and gave it a background from Fall Folk
Stencil.

A few sugar sprinkles,  and my pie is done!

More pies coming up!
Have a delicious week, my friends!

Another of the fabulous sets from the Greetery's Handiwork release, is this
vintage sewing machine. Love at first sight!

I 'borrowed' a few of the designers inspirations for my friendship card, like  Dawn's
triple fabric pile,  and  Kelly's use of the frame embroidery hoop. 'Sew" much
inspiration to  love during release week!

This was made for a dear friend that loves to quilt.

Crazy for the stitched sentiments too!
Have a great day!

Tapestry Roses

Hello, and hope you're enjoying the end of a very hot summer.
I finally had some time to play with The Greetery's latest release, and decided
to start with the Roses Tapestry Stencil Set.

...and  couldn't stop! Once the stenciling was done, ran each card through the
Aida Cloth Texture Plate.
Honestly would have played with this set for days,
but knew I had to make a card, so,

After adding some trims and bobbits, ended up with a thank you card.

I  sew wanted my tapestry to  be the star, but those haughty little red handled
scissors just had to steal the show.

Seriously can't believe the detail on these darlings.  In this case, die cut 2 pair, and
red embossed one, before cutting the handles and gluing them to the silver pair.
Also red embossed the the brad.

I had almost as fun photographing the card with little sewing notions!

I did  one panel on brown cardstock, first laying down a heavy coat of white
(distress oxide Picket Fence), then adding layers of color.
Stay tuned for this one...

The Card Concept: Summertime Fun

Hello Crafting friends! It's June 21st, and that means the first day of summer.
The Card Concept has a new challenge, and it's Summertime Fun.

Our photo inspiration has several summer/ocean/sea items for you to
get your crafting juices flowing, as well as color swatches. What is your
favorite? And what style will your card be?

I would definitely call mine Layered, but clean? Maybe more Mixed Media/Layered.
I used several Lindy's Starburst sprays for a mixed colored sand effect. And
watercolored the panel of waves.

Sunbather and accessories: Spellbinders: Day at the Beach

Hope you're inspired to play along. Pick a theme and be sure to add our photo
to your blog. Thanks for the visit, and hope your summer goes swimmingly!

Get Well and Feel Better

Hello and welcome!
My Greetery order arrived and I couldn't wait to play with the new
dies! Oh that cane! And after seeing Dawn's post on the Greetery with the
colorful Monstera plant, that decided it. The monstera leaf gets first place
in playtime!

I watercolored the leaves first. Easy peasy, just water sprayed and dabbed with with greens
and Paynes Grey.

The background is sponged inked before I added the cane (did I mention I LOVE
that die?) Splatters  added at the end.

Needed a few 'get wells' for the stash, and these leaves will definitely brighten
the dullest day.

Perfect tag for the Urban Jungle theme!

So many amazing fun dies in my order... must make more cards!

Happy crafting

The Card Concept: Industrial Modern or Nature Calls

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept, and once again, you get to
choose: Industrial Modern or Nature Calls.

I did a card inspired by the Nature calls photo. My card is Clean and Layered.

I loved all the elements in the photo of Nature Calls, but I didn't necessarily
follow the masculine vibes. Mine is a salute to a summer birthday, with
a sea theme.

I used a couple of oldies from PapertreyInk, Salt Air: Flora and Fauna.
The die cuts are mounted within The Greetery's Curio Divider & Details die.

I've always loved the darling turtle in this set, and gave him a Glossy Accents eye.

Play for 2 weeks and remember, add our photo to your blog post to be eligible
to win.

Have a wonderful week!
