JUGS Wild Card #217 One Layer Card

It's the end of the month of November, and that means my last guest designer post with JUGS.

Just Us Girls #217, is a Wild Card Challenge by Nancy.
One Layer Card Challenge with a Winter theme

One layer cards do not come easy for me.
I just want to add sequins, die cuts, buttons, well you get the idea.

More is more and just makes me happy!
Phew! Glad I got that off my chest
Now for my one layer card.

Just ignore that there is actually a double layer of card stock!
The fact that it fits in a regular envelope and mails with a regular stamp
has me amazed. May have to try this more often!

PTI stamped trees from Background Basics: Evergreens.
Then ghost stamped behind.
Trees are stamped again with Stamp 'n Bond, glittered and heated to secure glitter
 (that stuff really works!)
Sentiment 'Winter' also selectively 'glittered'.
Lil Inkers stitched rectangle dies.
PTI cardstocks.

I want to thank Vicki and the team at Just Us Girls, for allowing me to guest design this month.
I was honored to be featured 4 times, and loved every week's challenge!
Thank you JUGS!
Can't wait to play along next month and all the 2014 year!

MIM #142

MIM's challenge is to decorate a simple bag with
stamps, ribbon, tags, well you get the idea!
Just have fun!

To say it's been a busy week is to understate!
Out of town family, cooking for 20+, the flu (last week), being a guest designer on WM,
shopping, baking, ice skating and endless washing, well you probably had the same wonderful fate!
Wouldn't change any of it (well maybe a cook, and a maid or 2!)
But couldn't let this week's MIM pass. Had to make a bag to carry 5 sets of tags I made for
galfriends. We get together for a Girl's nite, and of course a little something for each one
keeps us giggling from start to finish!

I keep all those wonderful acrylic boxes the stamp sets come in, and reuse them when needed.
These are a set of 8 tags for each gal.
Should have put the PTI tags in the showy window (duh!) but you get the idea.
Simply remove PTI's band, and replace with dp. Little cork tag decorated with a die cut deer from In the Meadow, and a banner with each gal's name.
All tags are die cut from PTI's Tag sale collection, and Limitless Layers Ovals.
All cardstock PTI.

Decorated brown bag with Limitless Layers Circle to resemble a Snowglobe.
Hard to see, but snowflakes are embossed onto Aqua Mist circle, die cut copic colored images from Snowglobe glued on, as well as sequin snowflakes.
The base is a die cut Vintage Picnic Basket in PTI dotty Pure Poppy.
So much more festive that showing up with a plain paper bag, don't you think?

Melissa is always on target with the best ideas. This one was super simple,
and super quick!
You have today and tomorrow to join in the fun!

Waltzingmouse's Friendly Feature

Christmas came a bit early here in Clovis, when I received an email from Waltzingmouse Stamps,
asking if I would like to be their guest for this month's Friendly Feature.

YES!

I love their stamps (and now dies), and their wonderful group of designers are beyond
inspirational!
So I got to make a card and a set of tags that are featured on Claire's blog.

I did fussy cut the holly, but the lantern has it's own die, and wow, does it give you the perfect
stamped image!

It's choc full of stamping possibilities, like that glorious glow from the candle!

Their background Pinstripe is the edging,
and I stamped and then ghost stamped the pinecones.

The double tags are a borrowed idea from Lindsey L., (who saw them on Maile's blog)
(isn't this a great blog network?)
and feature the sweet images fromFolk Art Additions.

We have a Swedish Villiage called Kingsburg near us that have a festival every year.
The bakeries, the shops, the parks all go out of their way to welcome visitors.

The sweet reindeer reminds me of the horse they display proudly announcing their Swedish heritage.

Thank you Claire and Lynn for giving me the opportunity to show how much I love your product line.
My Waltzingmouse collection is growing, and I can't say enough about their quality,
and quick ship!

WM's Friendly Feature is a regular every month.
Playing along with their PJ Party after the month's new releases, gives you a chance to be a featured guest too!

PTI's November Blog Hop

Good Morning!

Welcome to PapertreyInk's November Blog Hop!

What's the challenge?
Create a Paper House
Nichole even gave us a template to use,
which I did use to make my Christmas cottage.

The days are rather busy this time of year, my family is already here for Thanksgiving (19 in the house!), and it didn't help to have the flu last week (no I didn't get a flu shot, next year it's on my to do list!. Does it really help?) I had big plans to let loose with this challenge. But life interfered, and I only did this one. But she won't be lonely.
I collect paper houses and bottle brush trees, and over the years set them into a village at Christmastime.

My little candy cane house fits right in!
Maybe next year I'll do some more. The possibilities are endless, and Pinterest has some wonderful inspiration. Look up Putz House. You'll be in a wonderland of sugar plum goodness!
PTI picket fence die
PTI cardstocks
PTI Candy Cane Prints
gesso, mica, tiny bottle brush tree, wooden snowflake.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has come up with.
These hops are always full of great inspiration!

JUGS #216

It's a photo challenge at the JUGS blog this week!

My inspiration comes from the retro look together with colors dots and stockings, only I substituted skates!

These are On Ice stamp and die sets from PTI.
In the photo, there's a roll of twine in red and white. I added the twine as laces on the skates
Poms on the ends.
Lots of dp, love to do layers, especially at Christmas.
Lots of dots in the photo too! (Round shaped ornaments)

Hope you'll take some time this busy Thanksgiving week to play along!

MIM 141

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Make It Monday and it's time to bring out the glitter!
Heather Nichols shows us how to make it stick!
With Vintage Ornaments stamps and dies,
first inked and then with the heat and stick embossing powder, Heather made it a breeze.
She warned of overcooking (which I have done), but knowing when to stop makes it easy.
Even applied a strip on the bottom.

Come and play on Nichole's blog here:

Can't wait to do this again, Thank's Heather!

Good Monday Morning!
So excited to say I was selected to be the guest designer for this week's Merry Monday!

Love playing with this theme, and love that with their creative challenges, I've done enough Christmas cards to be done!

My card is a shaker window (bling) with the tree on the inside.
PTI's In the Meadow stamps and dies
Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder.
Here's the inside.

And the window, which houses the shaker fun.

Designer Paper is Webster's Pages, Dear Santa.

MM # 83 Stripes, Red, Chocolate & Stars or Hearts

This week's Merry Monday focuses us on the colors: Red, and Chocolate, with stripes, and either
 stars or hearts.
Chocolate means bring on the gingerbread man from PTI's Holiday Button Bits.

Isn't this the dreamiest cupboard?
I love all things traditional, seasoned with a bit of kitsch, and always red and white.

Mr. Gingerbread Man is holding a peppermint candy Memory Box die cut.
Banner includes hearts from PTI's Gingerbread Lane cut from red felt.
PTI tag sale die cut from Pure Poppy card stock.
Background paper is Webster's Pages: Silent Night. I thought the Birch trees look stripish.
There's a brown die cut snowflake from PTI, glittered with coarse glitter, behind the tag.
Layers make me happy.

Dimension with foam dots, some Baker's twine, and red and white snowflake ribbon.
Play along through Sunday on the Always Playing with Paper website.

MIM #140 Ink Pad Designs

Ashley shows us how to use our ink pads to design our cards
 on this week's Makeit Monday.
Totally fun and colorful way to be creative with the stamp pads.
Needed a few cards for Thanksgiving, so I made 2 cards for the challenge.

Cut a window in my Rustic Cream card stock with Limitless Layers oval, ran it through the Cuddlebug again with the Woodgrain embosser (both PTI), and then came the fun.
Using Canyon Clay inkad, I swiped it over the card stock. Really brought out the grain of the wood.
Spritzed it with water, to tone down just a bit.
Basket of Blessings copper embossed and selectively bleached. (Remember that tutorial?)
Autumn Acorn leaves and PTI twine.

2nd card used Basket of Blessings again (it was handy, and I love that basket!)
This time embossed in gold, and again used bleach.
(It was handy too!)

The sentiment was clear embossed before I applied the ink pad. I also spritzed it with water.
I think it looks like marble!
Sentiment is also from Basket of Blessings. I used my gold gel pent hilight the T and B.
Rustic Cream cardbase.

Jugs 214 Create a bg of words

Hi all!
Hope you're having a great weekend.

I have a card made for the Just Us Girls Challenge blog,
which asks us to use a word background on our cards.
I'm excited to say I was chosen to be their guest designer for the month of November!
You  could have knocked me over when I got the email from Vicki Dutcher, one of the designers
of the 'JUGS' blog.

Here's the challenge photo:

So happy I could use PTI's new stamp set, Background Basics: Christmas Joy.
It's just full of Christmas words. Pretty good background for a Christmas card!

Can't seem to get enough of Two Feet Deep, another set from PTI.
The Pinecone swag was created with Peaceful Pinecones.
Tiny Tags die and Lil Inkers bow and stitching dies.

This is a fun challenge blog with some talented designers leading the way.
