12 Kits of Occasions January '19 - Good Fortune

Hi and welcome to 12 Kits of Occasions! We're a blog hop featuring a
different kit each month by a different kit member. This month we
received an Asian theme by our friend Jeanne Jackna with bright happy
papers, sweet Asian dolls and a kimono, fortune cookies... well come have a
look. I made six cards, and have wonderful images left over to do more.

Jeanne included this die kimono which I backed with one of dp she sent. I fussy cut the
flowers from the leftovers and foam mounted it onto a watercolor I painted.
(Jeanne even sent watercolor card stock to make it easy!)

Gave these dolls a setting on a Poppystamps leafy plate.

I gave this doll her own setting on a Hero Arts die cut shaker colored with Magicals.

Couldn't help but pair the Chinese take out with a designer sushi & chopsticks paper!
Added a handle to the box with a piece of wire bent and shaped.
PTI Shape Shifters Square: 2 cut from Berry Sorbet Cardstock

This cutie was colored with copics and I added the pattern on her kimono.
The gold screen was a piece cut from a PTI Bold Borders: Arabesque die.

Jeanne sent the temple die, and gold coin, along with the embossed bg card stock.
I added a bit of magicals to the temple, and mounted it on Pink Cardstock.

You're in for a treat this month.
We are welcoming a new member, Kara Lynn Pogreba! Can't wait to see
what she does with the kit.
And Jeanne has invited not one, but 3 guests!

All supplies are listed on the 12 Kits' blog.

Thanks for the visit!

Be Strong & Courageous

PapertreyInk's Make It Monday features Ashley this week, showcasing
Negative Die Cuts

What a fun way to add color and texture to your card design!
I started with a Shape Shifter die and backed it with an aqua shimmer.
The flowers are from Farmers Market Florals, with a few leaves from
The Sweet Life added.

Popped up one of the blooms with foam.

Lastly added a bit of gold Stickles to the small flowers' centers.

Hope your week is crafty!

PTI January '19 Blog Hop

Welcome!

It's Blog Hop time at PapertreyInk, and we were given this inspiration:

Didn't stray far from the photo, and came up with a cake set in layers of black
& white & gold.

The stylized 'Happy Birthday' script is one of my PTI favorites!

Play along all day on the PTI blog. Always so much to inspire!

You Have my Heart

Hello Blogland!

I just got my computer back after a long week without it. My phone could only do
so much and thankfully and hopefully my computer drought is over.
The first card I'm posting since my computer's return, is this Valentine for PTI's MIM,
this week hostessed by Michelle Leone.
She has a lovely video showing how to use 'Lotsa Letters' on our cards.

I gathered some of my seasoned PTI stamps and dies, and worked around a banner
featuring Wet Paint Alphabet letters.
The background is stamped with an oldie called Alphabet Soup. (It's currently
marked down in the shop!) I forgot how fun this stamp is. The hearts and
sentiment within the heart are from You Have My Heart, another oldie
with a lot of heart (excuse the punning around!)

That wonderful stitched heart is part of the dies included in the die package.
The white heart is a Limitless Layers heart.

The Wet Paint letters fit perfectly on the Large Banner. Just a touch of ombre
on both the bg letters and the word Valentine.
You'll find links to the stamps and dies I used below.

Hope your week is full of crafty goodness!

Card Concept: Rainbow Cupcakes

I have a fun card for you today. The super yummy challenge at the Card Concept is
'Rainbow Cupcakes', and that had me searching through my stash of stamps of
cupcake images.

The very 1st layer was created with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks.
On top of that is a Hero Arts Confetti die cut from black card stock.
I found the perfect cupcake images in Clearly Besotted: Tasty Treats
stamps and dies. (fussy cut the plate stand.
And the flag and sentiments are from Concord and 9th's
Birthday

Hope you play along. So many ways to go with the photo inspiration!

Happy Crafting!

Winter Watercolor

Ashley shows us some wonderful tips to creating our Winter Watercolor
cards, this week for PTI's Make It Monday.

My card is slightly larger than an A2, because I wanted my Amaryllis to take center stage.
Watercolor paper makes the technique a breeze, blending and dragging one color
into the next.

A closeup of the Amaryllis blooms and a few drops of Nuvo to highlight the stamens.
Not exactly a one layer, as was Ashley's example, and I didn't add any gesso.
Loved that dimensional addition of gesso, but did stamp the leaves onto
my background for a bit of dimension of my own.

Stamps and dies link directly to the PTI item. Happy Shopping!

Fusion Guest Spot

Hey there Fusion Card Challenge fans. My friend Michelle Leone
asked me to be her guest for a spot on the Fusion challenge blog for their
5th Anniversary Challenge. I love
playing along with Fusion, where you play with their sketch, a photo
or combine them both.
Here's this week's challenge inspiration:
The colors of those fluttering butterflies sent me to my Magicals.
Are you familiar with Magicals? They're those powders sprinkled
and when spritzed with water, magically explode with color.

Butterfly Blooms from PTI gave me the images, both stamped on and
copic colored. The sentiment is PTI's Wet Paint Holiday die cuts.
The panel was cut with Noted: Stitched Vertical A2 die cuts.

A bit of the shimmer shows in this photo snapped outdoors.

Thanks, Michelle for the invite, and hope you get a chance to play along!

Happy Crafting!

The Card Concept: Pink Party

Welcome back to the Card Concept Challenge!
Hope your holidays were full and jolly. If they were anything like mine,
they were busy. So glad to be back in the craft saddle, and happy to be
bringing you inspiration for 'Pink Party'.

Our photo this week could be inspiration for color, items on the table,
or the contrast of pinks and black and white.
What inspires you?
Here's what I came up with:

The pink peonies inspired my Clean and Elegant with a bit of layering card.

The Ton's Dearest Peony centrally stamped, and colored with copics, then cut
with PTI's Pierced Frames: Oval, are the main elements to my card.
Just a bit of gold Stickles and a few gold sequins complete.
I really wanted to emphasize all that bright white in the photo.

All right, now it's your turn. Can't wait to see how you are inspired!
Don't forget to pick one of the styles, or come up with one of your own!

Happy Crafting!
