12 Kits of Occasions: April - Happy Birthday

Happy last day of April everyone! And you know what that means? It's time for
the 12 Kits of Occasions. It's my turn to be hostess, and I've chosen birthdays as my
theme for the kit. As you know, a group of us formed a friendship card and project
blog that posts on the last day of each month. We can choose any theme we like
and send our friends a kit of goodies with that theme in mind.
Birthdays are so special, and don't know about you, but can't have enough on hand.
So let's get started, hope you enjoy my kit, Happy Birthday!

Leading off with a shaker that says it all.

I sent all the die cuts to create this C9 purse, but in white cardstock, and all
the trimmings in black shimmer. I covered the body of the purse with designer
paper, and painted the trims with bronze metallic watercolor. Simply love
this die set. I hope the girls loved it too!

I backed the die cut panel with an alcohol inked piece I had in my stash.

C9's cake was stamped and ready to go for each gal. I added it to a card with
a Washi strip.

Love these 'besties' from MFT

Included in the kit was this embossed birthday card and the sweet cupcake sticker.
I added it to MFT's cake plate and cake.

I stenciled this square panel from Altenew and included it in the kit, along with
Spellbinders' Hip, hip, hooray in black. I embossed it with blue
metallic powder twice. A 5 1/2" square, and handmade envelope.

Doubling embossing gives the die cut a metal look.

Can't wait to see what the others did with the kit. They're all so talented!
One sad note, I heard from Tracey McNeely, and she didn't get her kit.
Might have been held up in customs, I just don't know. Anyway, hopefully
she'll use it and post at a later date.

I know you've heard this often, but stay safe and well.
All product listed in Monthly Supplies on the blog.

The Card Concept: Blessings

Hi my friends. It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

I don't know about you, but who can resist a photo with a bouquet of
flowers? That and the silver in the photo inspired my Blessings card.

I've had Altenew's gorgeous Open Bloom 3D Die Set sitting on my desk since
before Christmas. Finally had the chance to play with them!
The background panel is a stencil from Memory Box called Leafy Jumble.
I lightly inked the corners, then stenciled on silver paste. When dry, I added
droplets.

I don't know why it took me so long to use this set. But I don't know if I can
put it away! The final flower is gorgeous, isn't it? Can't wait to try more colors.
I cut all the pieces from white cardstock and inked them with
Altenew pinks and greens.

Play along at the Card Concept blog.
Our challenges are for 2 weeks.
My sentiment, 'Blessings' is for all of you...

Be blessed, and stay safe and well!

Grateful for You & You are Simply the Best

Hello and welcome to my Poppystamps post. I'm up on the blog today
with a couple of cards made with the new Ariana Square Die.

Some years ago, Heather Nichols showed a technique using bleach on cardstock.
I painted some of the leaves on the frame's leaves, and cut 2 frames, turning the front
frame into a diamond shape.

Check out the Poppystamps blog for all the details,
and thanks for the visit!

Keeping Christmas: April

Hi and welcome to Keeping Christmas: April.

How are you doing during this strange time of sheltering? Hopefully enjoying
some card crafting?

I have some inspiration for your Christmas card making.

My card uses the Greetery's  Robin and Wren, a stamp set that didn't get used
during the Christmas season. I'm so happy to say I'm in love with those sweet
birds. I paired them with another of the Greetery's sets: Botanicuts Pine Bough.
Betsy has several You Tube videos showing how to color the pinecones and
add the chunky glitter, which I found so helpful. Really adds to the festive
feel of the holidays.

I began with a white cardstock and die cut  Nordic Frames (also the Greetery), and
inked it with Distress Oxide. I then splattered some metallic watercolor onto the panel.

It's nice to watch the Christmas stash growing!
Check out the other Keeping Christmas designers for more inspiration!

A Card for Sharron

Hello friends. I have a card today made for a friend, Sharron Gregory, who
passed away suddenly last month. She was a part of our 12 Kits of Occasions
group. If you follow us, you know of her talents, her love of all things
card making, and especially that she loved the group. It's a very special
group of card makers who enjoy the craft, and support each other. So, today
we are honoring our dear friend with a card.

I almost met my friend Sharron in person, on a trip with other crafty friends to
the Craft House in Kansas. Sharron lived in Kansas. But I left a day early and
missed her. We will meet someday in heaven, where she resides now.

If you've card crafted for any length of time, short or long, you know how
special each and every friendship is, made through our love for this craft. We
encourage, praise, and share one of the most sincere forms of love and support I've
ever known. Sharron had a way of bringing a smile with every comment.
Kind, compassionate, sincere... I am so thankful to have known her.

I hope you'll visit and comment each of the designers as we honor our dear friend
Sharron with this special friendship post. Thank you for visiting!

Card Concept: Hello Spring

It's time for a look at the new inspiration for the Card Concept's Challenge.
Every 2 weeks CC hosts a challenge based on the style of your choice.
This challenge is called: Hello Spring. Here's your inspiration photo:

Now you could choose colors, elements, style, layout... anything tickle your
fancy? I have to be honest, I chose all of the above!

The photo had a pitcher of flowers, I chose to do a watering can (Poppystamps) full of
posies. My vibrant flowers are Washi tape on white card stock, fussy cut and
arranged around the top of a watering can, selectively embossed with liquid platinum.
With so much time on my hands, fussy cutting is a good way to spend some happy time!
The die cut oval is from the Greetery. (Halfsies Die)
Sentiment: Easter Jubilee, also from the Greetery

I called my card, Elegant and Layered.

What inspires you from the photo? Hope to see your creation in the lineup!

Happy crafting friends!
Below is a list of supplies from Poppstamps and Memory Box.

John 10:10

It's Easter week around this globe, and some, if not most will miss gathering in
person to worship the risen Lord. Our church, a gathering of about 500, meet on
First Street... Hence we are called, First Street Church. My son Ryan co-pastors with
Joe Basile, 2 young men, filled with God's Spirit and enough Godly love
to go around the globe twice!
I love our church. I love the people in our church. We love the neighborhood
around our church. So we planned a huge Easter extravaganza for the kids.
Then the virus came...
No Easter celebration.
No church service.

So the pastors and worship team started an online service, one on Sunday at
10:00, and 2 midweek. Interactive Bible study and just to chat. (The link is
that number below if you'd like to visit)

The day is coming, and I hope soon, when we can once again gather at my sweet
church. Meanwhile I am thankful for so many of God's provisions, family,
and for His promises too as we live on a planet coping with separation.
One of my cherished blessings is sharing our card making with so many
wonderful friends! Do you have a prayer need? I'd love to pray with you and
for you. You can message me through my Facebook, Nancy Penir.

Happy, Healthy Easter Season to you.
Remember: He died to give us life, and that life in abundance!

The Card Concept Challenge: Easter Blessings

Easter time greetings everyone!
I have some inspiration for the new challenge at the Card Concept:
Easter Blessings

My eye went immediately to the cross hung on the mirror.

My card features the cross and greens from the Greetery's Caring Cross.
I painted on some Shimmery Goodness (actual name) from TCW (Amazon)

I tried so hard to get it to show in the photo, it's really pearly irl!

I stamped the sentiment in Pirate's Gold on vellum, and fussy cut it so the Nuvo
drops could show.
Clean and Layered for this challenge!
Play along for 2 weeks,
we love to see your creations!
