12 Kits of Occasions: May '18 You're a Good Egg

Hello everyone! Welcome to the last day of May, and 12 Kits of Occasions, where you
are treated to 12 designer friends and their creations!
This month I'm hostess, and my kit is themed 'You're a Good Egg'.
My husband and I live on 2 1/2 acres and raise chickens for their eggs.
By day they roam the homestead, and at night are snugly tucked into their coop.
To say they've won our hearts is an understatement! We affectionately call them 'the girls',
and have to say, we smile each time we crack open an egg!
And with that in mind, may I present this month's kit... full of chickens and eggs and
hopefully a few 'cluckles'!
You'll see lots of Lawn Fawn this month, especially their set, 'Hay There', and some of
their wonderful papers.
I've invited 2 friends this month, Colleen Foelker, and Linda Snodgrass.
Be sure to drop by and give 'em some love!
So get comfy, put your feet up, grab a cuppa, and enjoy. There's a whole lot of
crafty country to see!
Remember, all products are listed on the 12 Kits' products page.
And one more note: I'm an affiliate for PapertreyInk. All their products I used are
hi-lighted and are a direct link to their shop. If you like something I used, I'd love it
if you use my link up. Thanks!

It's all about farm life with my box card made with Lawn Fawn's sweet images!

The scene was made using Lawn Fawn's Scallop Pop Up Box Card die set.

Included in the kit was Lawn Fawn's Simple Grassy Hillsides...
can't wait to see how my teammates used it!

Adore these sweet Lawn Fawn ducklings!

These 'farm fresh' images from Carta Bella are mounted around

Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper. I had the stitched square and rectangles left over from
the pop up box. Skillet & egg carton: Cottage Cutz.

I saw these chicks from Stampin' Up on Pinterest and had to add them to my stash. You can
still get them on eBay, but be forewarned... they're pricey. See the one with the funky hair?
That's chick attitude. LOVE it! Oh, and btw, Those are real feathers off my girls, discarted
not plucked. The grandkids love to collect them from the coop.

Chicken Wire, hen & egg also Stampin' Up.

Last card is some ombre inking over a Cottage Cutz die set.

Hope you enjoyed a bit of card making country style, and hope you
visit the 12 Kits designers for more fun on the farm!

Hugs, y'all!

Celebrate Your Special Day

Above & Below, Lizzy's tutorial this week, at Papertrey's MIM,
shows us how to frame our sentiments with die cuts.
Oh happy day! My order arrived just in time to use some of the new
stamps and dies for my card.

The sentiment is stamped on a strip created with a die from To The Point Edgers 2,
cut with the point down, then turned it around and cut again with the point up.
Love the little windows on that edger die!

I combined 2 sets, Forest Floor: Summer and Herb Garden.

Enjoying the warmup where I live.
Planted some spring color and watching the vegetables ripening.
Just hope the chickens don't eat it before we do!

Happy Crafting!

If you like and want to order any of the stamps, dies or inks you see on my card,
be sure to click on my links. They'll take you right to the PTI shop and product.
Thank You!

Oh, the Places You'll go!

'Create Along With Us' time at PapertreyInk, and this beauty by
Dawn McVey inspired my card:

There is never an easy choice when choosing which designer's gorgeous creation
to case. But in Dawn's case, it was made easy with the choice of her colors,
layout, globe and corner die.

The moment I saw her Glorious Globe I knew I wanted to use it on a graduation
card. Actually 6 graduation cards!
This is the year for grads in our family. And with the exception of a niece, I
needed 5 for boys. So I switched up a few things, like color.

My 'Corner Adorner' is a Memory Clip die cut with some treated paper I had
on hand. 3 tickets and a congrats die complete the 'adorder'

I love that the globe and tickets convey that life is just beginning for the graduate,
 wishing them endless possibilities!
1 down, 5 to go!

Happy Crafting!

If you see something on my card you'd like, my links are an affiliate of PapertreyInk,
and I'd love it if you'd order off my blog!
Thank You!
And thank you, Dawn. It's so nice to see you back designing your beautiful cards again!

The Card Concept Challenge: Floral Centerpiece

Welcome to a new challenge at the Card Concept.
Every 2 weeks, on Wednesday, there's a new photo inspiration.
This week it's this lovely spring vase of flowers.

I celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago, and my friend, Jeanne Jackna sent
me a Memory Box die called: 'Florina Corner'.
Layering dies became the floral centerpiece of my Classy Elegant card.

With a watercolored background, I die cut the Florina Corner and copic colored the
flowers and leaves and stems.
The banner is a PTI stamp and die set, with an ombred sentiment.

My links will take you to the PTI stamps and dies.
Thank you for using my affiliate links!

Hang in There!

Hello everyone!

I'm participating in a couple of things today,
PTI's MIM with Ashley, and Masking Sentiments,
and a blog hop fundraiser for Lea Lawson's son, called, Layton's legacy,
The fundraiser is to supply the NICU in Minnesota, Starbucks cards
for parents who have children there.

Ashley shows us some masking tricks, and I used them to create a special card
for someone to receive at the card drive.
I'm happy to let them know there are those who care.
My own granddaughter was born at 29 weeks.
We have an amazing children's hospital her in Central CA, and Reagan
spent 5 weeks there. The care she received in the NICU was exceptional,
and saved her life.
I thank God for her and those whose training and care gave us our beautiful Reagan!

Thank You Teacher

Good Thursday morning!
I finally found a few moments to myself to make a card for this week's
MIM with Melissa: Ink Blending on Colored Cardstock.

I've been on grandma duty for the week. SIL has been promoted and family will soon be
moving to So Cal. It's been a busy week!
3 children, 3 lunches, to and from different schools, practice, gymnastics,
 and one with a cold.
Was it this busy raising my own? How quickly it's all behind.
But... new memories to make, love to give, and receive... and for some reason
I seem to have endless patience, (thank God!). Anyway,
Back to the card...

Melissa's video was to use colored cardstock, emboss our image and ink blend over
the versamarked image.

While going through my PTI stamps and dies, I came across Betsy's sweet apple
from the What the Doodle series. Using pretty much Melissa's card layout, the rest was easy.
The card will go to one of the grandkids' teachers. School will be ending soon.
Not sure where the year has gone!
Hope I didn't bore you too much. It's so nice to be in the craft room, even for a
short while!

I've listed the PapertreyInk supplies used. If you click the ones you like
it takes you to the item in the store. Happy shopping!

Sending You Hugs

Hello friends! The Card Concept's new challenge is this gorgeous
inspiration photo:

Are you as 'wowed' as I am? So many directions and styles you could choose.

Contrast of the red bloom against shimmering white satin drape was my starting point.
I selected Altenew's Build a Flower: Aster and Aster die, and stamped
the red Bold Bloom.

Lots of drama and and a sentiment banner to mimic the photo.
Here's the link to get you started, and to see the rest of the DT's inspiration:

PTI's Banner and sentiment
Background is a stencil from PTI's Make It Market: Garden Gate
Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste (Gold and Silver)
A few sequins from my stash.

I'd say it falls under the category of Classy and Elegant.
Our challenge is for 2 weeks, and you can choose from the styles listed
on the Card Concepts's blog, or combine a few of them.

Happy Crafting! Hope to see your creation in the challenge lineup!
