The Card Concept: Celebrate Easter

Hello, and welcome to a Celebration of Easter! It's a new challenge at the Card Concept,
and my card plays with several of the Greetery's newest release, which I was so happy
the Card Concept's photo had displayed.

Bunnies and Carrots... definitely my inspiration!

Bunny Hop stamps and dies, the new Nordic Frames Circle Die and Botanicuts Carrots.
Couldn't resist throwing the new bow on top for my Very Layered Card.

Hope you're inspired to play along. Remember to add our challenge photo, and pick
a style (listed on the blog), or choose one of your own.

Happy Easter!

Bunny Hop

There was just something wild and free about Tim Holtz' bunnies that tickled, and
I quickly ordered them. Of course the freeform look of the 3 silhouettes meant I
had to also have the wildflower greens the bunnies could dance on...

The card is a slimline, 8 3/4 x 3 3/4", and the reason for the size is to look right with the
Greetery's Crimped Slimline Die. I started with a stenciled background (white embossing
paste), and built from there. The beautiful Easter script die is from the Greetery. I
think I've used it on all my Easter cards this year!

My envelope is from SSS, perfectly sized for the slimline, and they offer many colors
in a pack of 10. I created bunny stencils by die cutting the bunny and leaves with vellum.
This works great! And the the result is a decorated, personalized envelope.

The frame and bunny are 'foamed' up, and just had to add the pom for the tail!

The card is going to a favorite aunt. I think I've mentioned it before, but I have special
aunts that I love sending holiday cards to, and look forward to their calls of thanks
when they receive them.

Happy Spring, and Happy Easter!

Easter Cards

Easter cards are some of my favorite cards to make. Full of Spring and colorful florals,
and of course faith.
This latest release of the Greetery's goodies were full of joy... spring, florals and
Easter symbols and sentiments!

This past weekend I spent some time creating with the Greetery's Print Shop: Florals
Frames and the sentiment Empty Grave.

The 3 cards are more or less experiments with the stamp set, playing with Betsy's enclosed
stencils and dies.

A one layer card with blues and greens, and a little marigold for berries. You can't miss
with the stencil layering, so easy, and the center is perfect for your greeting.

2nd card was done with the die that cuts the floral frame, and I stamped some
enclosed berries in strategic places around and under the leaves and flowers. I added some
Nuvo drops, (wish I hadn't),  and lifted the die cut with foam.

3rd card is a mix of stenciling and stamping first on the card base, upside down, then
attaching the foam lifted top right side up onto the card. The idea wasn't mine, I
found inspiration from the Greetery's 'Lookbook'. I masked off the center sentiment,
and added a few splatters.

The sentiment is gold embossed, and I'd love to share a shade of gold I found, new
to me, from Ranger, called Princess Gold. It's the best gold I've used yet! I found mine
at Hobby Lobby.

Have a wonderful week, hope your Easter season is full of God's Grace!

The Card Concept Challenge: Butterfly Brilliance

We have a new challenge for you at The Card Concept, and our inspiration photo is
sure to stir your creative juices!

That butterfly! All I could do was stare at it's beauty! My card didn't stray far from
the photo's colors and layout.

The background is Stamp Market's and then sponge inked with Distress Oxide Inks.

And oh, that butterfly... the closest I could come to that amazing detail was an oldie
rubber stamp from Penny Black, which came alive with bright copics.

The blooms and fine stitched frame are Poppystamps.  And the script stamp: the Greetery.

The Card Concept challenges run for 2 weeks, lots of time to create a card,
or 2, and we love your sweet comments and creations! Be sure and read our
challenge rules, just a few, and to add our challenge photo to your post.

Looking forward to seeing your beautiful cards! Have a wonderful week!

A Thank You Card

Well hello stamping sisters! It feels like family when I'm blogging or visiting some of your
blogs!
There's a new company on the horizon... Pigment is a Canadian Craft Co., and I'm
thinking their fresh style and sweet simple images are going to catch on with all!

With my very first order was this irresistible apron die. I LOVE vintage aprons, have a few
from my mom and grandmother, and couldn't be more in love with the details to the shape.

One problem... I forgot to order the stamp set that went with the die! (Please tell me
you've done that while ordering too!)

I decided to give my apron a vintage wallpaper print, and used another of Pigment's new
stamp sets, called, Blooming Floral. Flowers are copic colored and hi lighted with white
pencil. Look closely at the top of the pocket, and you'll see a vellum 'ruffle' cut from
the hem shaped scallop.

The apron strings are from the top of the apron die, I snipped them off and added them to the
waist. The top straps were included in the die set, just folded them over and added gems
to be the buttons.

FYI: The stamp set was in a new order, together with  a couple more 'irresistibles'.

Hope your week (and weekend) is extra crafty... it's the best!

The Card Concept: Luck of the Irish

Hi and welcome! There's a new challenge starting today at the Card Concept, and
it's fitting right in with the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday.
'Luck of the Irish' is the theme, and here's your inspiration photo:

Plenty of green, right? Lots of gorgeous spring florals and that's where I took
my inspiration to create my very layered card.

2 frames border the Greetery's Mason Jar, and plenty of florals from Botanicuts Roses
and Forget Me Nots.

Just love the Greetery's jar, and was so happy to use it again for my card.

The Card Concept's Challenges are 2 weeks long, and we love to see your
creations! Remember to add what style you've used, and include our challenge
photo on your post.

Hope your week is extra crafty!
