12 Kits of Occasions April '18

Hi friends! Welcome to 12 Kits' April post. This month's hostess is
Lisa Elton, from My Paper Tales, and what a sweety of a kit she gave us!
'My Little Chickadee' is the theme, with birds and feathers,  tweety sentiments,
and lots of gorgeous papers.

Are you settled in with a cuppa? Hope you enjoy my cards!

Lindsey included this stamped stem of flowers on kraft. Couldn't wait to pencil in the color.
PTI stencil dots on Aqua Mist cardstock.

Isn't he adorable? He's titled 'Choirboy', and he's from Past Time Stamps.

One of the most fun we friends have is combining elements in our kit. This Impression Obsession
couple on the clothesline seemed perfectly matched to this sentiment!
PTI's Sunshine rays stencil.

All these elements were included in this month's kit, even those sweet little wood birds.
The twine is Lawn Fawn.

I cut a window in this pattern paper Lisa included, from PTI's Window Works die,
and fussy cut and copic colored the bird on the branch.

And finally this card, with a sentiment from Serendipity.

Hope you enjoyed the post today, I loved working with Lisa's kit,
and have plenty to do several more cards. Just the kind of kit I love!

Thank you Lisa!
Don't forget to visit the other kit designers. Always fun to see what they do with the same kit!

Hugs!

PTI April '18 Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to PTI's April Blog Hop.

We were given this photo for inspiration.

I loved the linen look, and took the florals for my inspiration.

I used a stamp and spritz technique for my blooms and leaves, adding additional color
for a second stamping with my misti.

It's such fun to hop around and see what we all did with the photo!
Play along all day on the PTI Blog!

Spot Color Word Diecuts with Betsy Veldman

Make It Monday this week features Betsy and 'Spot Word Diecuts'.
This is a wonderful way to hi light a sentiment, and I plan to do it again.
First I found a line stamp or two, and then a word die with some weight, as
Betsy showed us in her video.

So happy to use Butterfly Blooms for the first time, along with it's companion set: A Bit More
Butterfly Blooms. I just had to try Lexi's Flat Photography with this card.

Play along all week on PTI's Blog!

Two-Fer #4: Pets

There's a Two-Fer Challenge going on now, with the prompt: Pets.

Among my 'pets' are egg laying chickens I've raised from 2 day old chicks.
They lived in my laundry room for 2 months, warm and snug, until they were able to
live outdoors in a chicken coop my husband and son built.

My babies at 3 weeks.

I created 2 cards with a favorite Ai stamp called Spring Chicken

O Frap. A perfect sentiment when a birthday is forgotten, don't you think?
Miss Henny Penny is copic colored in pinks to show her frustration at forgetting
an important event. Plaid paper: Lawn Fawn.
Circle frame die: Poppystamps
Roses and bowl of eggs: Carta Bella: Country Kitchen

My 2nd card is the same stamp from Ai's Spring Chicken, this time colored with E-copics,
very much the color of my chickens. And it becomes a Mother's Day card, by masking
the sentiment on the cup, and adding a heart.
Ai: Bird Brains chicken wire stamp
PTI: Stitch in Time Borders.

A Two-Fer!

Graffiti Word Art with Lexi Daly

Lexi Daly has a tutorial on the PapertreyInk blog this week, creating
Graffiti Word Art

My PTI word dies didn't come close to being 'graffiti-esque', but I came closest with
the happy from Paper Clippings: Birthday.
I started with a few other dies, and worked Lexi's steps on them, but was happiest with
the Paper Clippings die.

I really liked Lexi's word, 'fly'. The shape and font was perfect for the challenge.
I'm afraid the words I had are a bit frilly to call them graffiti.
But the technique works well with die and stamped word.

Love the little bit of sheen the clear embossing gives the word.

I GA'ed the candle flames and balloon.

A Blessing in my Life

Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.
Here's our inspiration, called 'Blossoms in Blue'.

Oh so feminine!
And some Layered inspiration from me:

I used PTI's Stitched Garden and Gathered Garden blooms and greens over a panel of
Stenciled dots.

Come play along for 2 weeks, and pick one of our styles or combine the styles.

Simple Stitched Stems with Michelle Leone

This week's MIM at PapertreyInk features Michelle Leone, and her very first
video tutorial, Simple Stitched Stems.
Michelle's addition of a bit of handwork gives a personal touch to a card.

Some of you know I lost my mom in February. I know many other special moms, including
daughters, daughters In Law, aunts and friend-moms to give a MD card to.
My stitched stems were made easy with a PTI die set called Stitching Lines.

Bigger Blooms supplied my flowers and Shape Shifters: Oval provided the frame and leaves for
my posies.

I loved doing a bit of sewing on my card, and did one more while the stamps and dies
were handy.

For these leaves, I used my copics. I made the dots with Viva Glass Effect Gel in Blackberry.

My Cup Runneth Over

Like visiting an old friend, running across an old and much loved stamp set
that hasn't seen ink in a long time, brings joy to this stamper.

MIM this week had me going through my PTI sets and finding an oldie,
Tea For Two Additions.

Our hostess this Monday is Stephanie, and she challenged us to Add color to our Outline Images.

The Tea for Two set has solid, or nearly solid images, and the outline and sentiment I
wanted to use.

I added the little flower from Stitching garden, and a leafy image from the 2018
Anniversary Set.

The following are the sets I used. If you click them, it will take you to the sets
in the PTI shop.

Thanks for visiting, and have great week!
