12 Kits of Occasions August '16 'Sweet Pea'

It's time for 12 Kits' post, and this month we were
blessed with this kit from Lisa Elton from mypapertales!
She called her kit, 'Sweet Pea', and it lived up to the title!
Pinks, soft limey greens, and gold. And simply the sweetest
stamped images from a set I found out she designed!

Hope your coffee's handy, and you're comfy, I have lots to show you!

The scalloped edged paper is die cut from Make It Market Nostalgic Notions,
otherwise everything is from the kit. I created the button flower centers
by cutting circles from her pattern paper, and glossy accenting them.

Lisa designed these pea pods! Aren't they the sweetest? So perfect to copic color, and the sweet doll is from Pure Innocence.

Popped up the window frame and a few of the pea pods.
Don't you love those iridescent sequins?!

Lots of princess pink & gold!

The green dot tag had the pretty ribbon wrapped around it.
I cut Lisa's sweet pea flower from PTI Tag Sale #10.

Gold Foil paper was cut with PTI's Coverplate Circles, the rest, including the felt flower was included in the kit.

Waltzingmouse Pretty Circles die,
'sweet' embossed PTI Strawberry Patch Sentiments.

Cuttlebug Simple Flowers embossing folder, and PTI's Trememdous Tags,
All the rest Lisa provided in this month's fabulous kit.

Don't miss seeing what the other 12 kits designers did with their kits.
Sure to be wonderful!

Beautiful Day

Altenew has a challenge on their blog for the month of August.

Flamingos!

My Altenew August order included Bamboo Rose and their
Red Sunset ink cubes.
I stamped the roses several times using masks, on watercolor paper,
and watercolored the roses using the wonderful shades of Blush, Rouge,
Velvet & Crimson ink cubes.
The legs of the flamingos, and the tree trunks inspired the striped strip
on the bottom. The glittered card stock, the glassy water.
Glass Effect Gel, Blackberry, by Viva dots.
Getting this one in under the wire!

Heart on Fire

MIM this week with Dawn, and Ombre Cluster Stamping.
Dawn carefully demonstrates a lovely method for creating
the ombre look with our stamps.

Started my stamping with Leave It Be in Americana,
graduated to Terracotta Tile, then Orange Zest, Canyon Clay,
Summer Sunrise and finally Harvest Gold.
Sentiment from Art With Heart in Americana.

Foam mounted on Americana card.
Just had to add a few rainstones!
Very ready for fall, and fall weather. It helps the cooling to create a card
with a fall theme, don't you think?

August 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for PTI's August Blog Hop, and Nichole
has given us this photo for inspiration this month,

Ink Blending was one suggestion to use, and the colors... soft pastels,
with a touch of navy!

I love to layer, it's one of the joys I get from card making. And I took inspiration
from the layers of color, and the metal on the paintbrushes.

Square frame from Don't Forget to Write.
Had a bunch of die cuts left, so did a second card.

Background was ink sponged with Melon Berry,
then embossing paste applied with the leaf stencil from Garden Gate.
Combination of translucent, metallic gold & metallic silver ep. (Wendy Vecchi)
Circle frame die from Don't Forget to Write
Stamps & Dies: Give Thanks, Paper Clippings: Thankful for You,
Mum's the Word,  Inspired: Blessings.
PTI Inks: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Melon Berry, Americana,
Stormy Sea, & Enchanted Evening.
A few clear sequins and rainstones to finish.
Did I mention, I love to layer?

Can't wait to see the gorgeous creations all lined up this month,
a sea of pinks and oranges, with a hint of navy!

Best Wishes

Make It Monday's challenge features Laurie this week,
and using our cover plates and tag dies.

I needed a wedding gift tag, so I chose to work with the
Cover Plate: Gem Stone die set.
Tag Sale #6
Cover plate cut from gold foil
Diamond dies cut 3 times
Sentiment: Gatsby Glamour

Love the effect of the cover plate over a tag.
Plan to do this technique often.
Thank you, Laurie!

Autumn Blessings

Had some time to play with the new Make It Market Garden Gate.

Besides the shimmer paper, I added Wink of Stella in certain spots.

Will be posting more, this one for fall, a season I'm longing for....

Blessings

Time for PTI's Create Along With Us
What an amazing release it was! And the best of the best creating
Autumn beauties!

As usual, the hardest part is choosing which beauty to case...

Melissa's blessing card spoke to me. Actually several cards and
projects won my heart, but as I looked at Melissa's card, I
began to see stamps and dies I could use to maybe recreate
the feel of her card. Especially love that 'rag bow'.

All PTI, except the wood card stock.
Card base 4 x 5 1/2", something I love about Melissa cards, always such
elongated elegance!
Pretty much kept her composition, with the use of some
 of PTI's older Autumn's favorites.

Always fun to see what all the PTI fans do with this challenge!
Have a blessed week!

Notecard Set

Hope it's a happy Monday for you.
Spent the morning creating, definitely in my 'happy place'.
Lexi Daly challenges us this week, at PTI,
to ground out sentiments with a strip.
Her video gives several examples, and helps to
visually create a base for our card's focal die cut.
Once started, I couldn't stop!
Stamping and card making have that effect!

1st of 3 cards for my set, uses Noted: Scallop Square die
for a card base.
Sunflower Bouquet (the vault), stamped with Hero Arts Wet Cement
and watercolored with Zig pens.
Sentiment embossed onto the stitched banner from Tag Sale: Quilted.

Next card on the die card base from Make It Market Don't Forget to Write.
Watercolored the image again, and used the 'note' die from the set.

Last vase of sunflowers is first die cut from Smoky Shadow
stamp embossed in gold,
then the image is carefully brushed with bleach,
a MIM technique Heather Nicholes showed us a while back.
Then I watercolored the bleached part.

I love having sets like this handy during the holidays.
They make such sweet hostess gifts!

Do you all know about Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday Party?
Debbie is giving away 100.00 gift certificate to the winner

Merry Christmas with a Cherry on top!

Papertrey Ink challenged us this week, to review the Masters Stamp-A-Faire,
and choose one of the designer's brilliant creations, and do a 'remix'.
If you played along, a few weeks ago, you enjoyed lesson
after lesson, of style, creativity, and art masters.
So glad to be able to go just a bit deeper into what was the
best SAF yet!

Betsy Veldman, and Masterpieces with the Team, re-introduced me
to Disney Artist, Ralph Hulett.
If you're a fan of Disney animation, vintage retro Christmas, and
joyous art, visit Betsy's post again. You're in for a treat if you do!

The photo above is a Christmas card by Ralph Hulett, and one
I used as inspiration for my remix card.

The first thing I noticed about my inspiration piece was it's long, verticals.
My card was cut to 3 1/2 x 5 1/2".
And of course, those colors, and color blocking. Complete whimsy!
BB: Superstripes (Lavender Moon) onto Lavender Moon card stock.
A Second Helping of Sunshine, helped me recreate the warmth
of the stove and punchbowl.
Ornament hangers from Holiday Button Bits.
Ornaments from Take a Bough.
The script and size from O Holy Night was the perfect anchor for the
vintage scale.
The Master's Stamp-A-Faire is a wonderful reference.
Hope you get a chance to play all those amazing videos again!
