Poppin' Up to Say...

It's the season of Love, and I have a couple of Valentines made with The
Greetery's newest release, Have a Heart.

The Toaster was an immediate favorite during the release. So classic, with all it's
pieces to personalize with color, a vintage sweetheart!

I cut the pieces for the toaster in red and silver mirror card stock. That gave me 2
toasters. The toast was cut from ivory and Kraft, and then 'toasted' with Vintage
Photo DOI.
Look carefully and you'll see I die cut another piece of the toaster from black
cardstock, to give it a sort of shadow.

The sentiments were embossed with Ranger's Distress Barn Door, the BEST red
embossing powder ever! And believe me I have several reds. It's so fine, and has
a slight sheen. Really love it!
Backgrounds are also Greetery: Window Pane Plaid stamped with Ranger's
Barn door onto red cardstock. And Ribbon Maker Hearts die cut from Vellum, and
stenciled onto pale pink cardstock.

Happy Valentines everyone! Thanks for visiting!

Color Hues: the Color Challenge Pink and Red

Well, hello and I'm back again with a new card for The Color Hues Card Challenge, this
time the colors are Pink and Red. Perfect for a Valentine card!

The Greetery's order came so quickly, I dived right in and chose the Heart Arrow
Foiling and die cut.

For the background I used the Ribbon Maker Heart Strip Die and glued. several strips
of shimmer pink cardstock onto a shade darker pink. Then I cut it again from red to
retrieve the heart centers and glued them within each heart.

I was so happy to be chosen as one of the runners up for the last challenge, and
I used one of the same dies (Loopy Bow) on this card as I did on the last one.
It's such a happy bow! Hot Stuff Sentiments die was first red embossed, and
then pink glittered.

Valentines are happy cards we give to those special ones in our lives. Love the
bright kitchy feel of combining red and pink.

Have a great week!

The Card Concept: Winter Cocoa or Winter Snow

The Card Concept has a new challenge, starting today, and you get to choose
your inspiration again!

This inspiration photo and color swatches seemed to me a real challenge, so
I wanted to try to tackle the colors.

A while back I ordered the Stitch Petal Frame die from Spellbinders, and it
seemed the perfect choice for incorporating the select colors of the challenge.

We've had a lot of rain here in my Central Valley, good excuse to stay in and
embroider this stitch card.

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see both challenge photos and
play along!

Thanks for the visit!

Winter Wishes

Hi there, and Happy New Year!
I'm posting a card for the Color Hues Challenge, which 2 colors are Light Pink and Gold.

My friend Marcia Hill just began a design gig with them, (congrats, Marcia!),
so thought I'd give it try, andthe 2 colors were definitely a challenge for me.
And who doesn't love a good challenge!

All Greetery on my card, a list of what I used follows the post.

I'm smitten for the. new Loopy Bow the Greetery released, so many ways to
brighten a card!

Because I didn't want to trim the hangovers, I created my own envelope with the help
of the We R Memory Keepers punchboard. So easy to use, and not to mention how fun
it is to use up my stash of printed papers!

Check out the Color Hues Challenge here:

The Greetery supplies used:
 Loopy Bow Builder Die
Tagged Elegance Stamp Set
Pine & Berry Stamp Set
Round About Winter Foliage die (center circle)

Ranger Ink: Distress Oxide Tattered Rose

Ranger Stickles Glitter Gel

The Card Concept: Holiday Gatherings

Welcome back to The Card Concept Challenge.
I hope your holiday was everything wonderful!
The Card Concept is a challenge to create a card using a style. We have several suggestions
for you on our blog, or you can pick one of your own, or even combine 2 or more
styles. I'm excited to be back with this fabulous photo inspiration.

I was immediately drawn to the gold in the photo,  and used plenty of it
on my card. Also the color swatches, the stars, and the goblets. Pretty. much
everything in the photo!

Dies used from The Greetery, and MFT. Background sprays from Lindy's
Stamp Gang.

The Ribbon Maker die from the Greetery was backed with Gold Foil card stock,
and the goblets were cut from gold as well.
My card is Elegant Glam, a style I made up! Perfectly acceptable, as I said
before!
Our challenges are for 2 weeks, and we love seeing your creations!

Happy New Year!
