Gift for a Friend

Hi Crafty friends! Hope you're enjoying the last of a very long summer.
I've been enjoying The Greetery's 'Handiwork', and just completed an
8 tag set for a dear friend.

My friend and I share a love for all things vintage, handmade and collectable.
The 2 of us can loose hours in an antique shop, a fine fabric shop, and  don't
even get me started on vintage fairs!

This release hit every handiwork button in my heart. I've already made half a dozen
cards with the fabulous dies, stamps and all the  fun items, but I LOVE  making
tags, and just had to see how all the sweet smaller  embroidery hoops would work out.

My dear sweet friend is a quilter, an artist, and so much more. I don't think
there's anything she can't do with her talented hands.

Betsy gave us 7 of these little hoops in different shapes, but I stretched it to 8 by using
the square twice.

Each little hoop is basically the same design,  with a different flower.

All  8 tags can be added to birthday,  or other special celebration gift.

All tags have a little bloom  tail, and  a  pearl.

My set of tags needed a box, and I had this one made, with slightly different colors. I
added the color scheme of my tags, together with a large embroidery hoop,
and more notions.

Betsy thought of every sweet detail, from the hoop, to the fabric and stitched florals.

Added some felt to the pincushion, and pink pearl handles to the scissors.

All 8 tags fit perfectly inside their box.

If you stayed with me, thank you!  You get the reward for hanging in there!

Have a great day, my crafty friends!

Reminder #83: Add Spots or Stripes

Welcome back to a reminder at The Flower Challenge, where the challenge this month
is Add Spots or Stripes.

The stripes are text, and run down the bottom of the card, in a sweet script.

This time I used Sizzix Thinlits Brushstroke Flowers 2 & 1,  by Tim Holtz.

Oxide Ink colors by Ranger, and Hello There, an old die from PTI.

Hope to  see you in the lineup!

Another of the fabulous sets from the Greetery's Handiwork release, is this
vintage sewing machine. Love at first sight!

I 'borrowed' a few of the designers inspirations for my friendship card, like  Dawn's
triple fabric pile,  and  Kelly's use of the frame embroidery hoop. 'Sew" much
inspiration to  love during release week!

This was made for a dear friend that loves to quilt.

Crazy for the stitched sentiments too!
Have a great day!

One Stitch at a Time

The second Tapestry panel to be worked into a card used more
blooms from Embroidered Blooms, and  a smaller frame.

The flowers on the background tapestry were first stenciled in white,
before adding the blue oxide colors.

I added a little tassel to  the pearl handled scissors, and inserted my sewing
needed in the  tread bobbin.
Just Take it One Stitch at a Time. Good  advice for all!

Tapestry Roses

Hello, and hope you're enjoying the end of a very hot summer.
I finally had some time to play with The Greetery's latest release, and decided
to start with the Roses Tapestry Stencil Set.

...and  couldn't stop! Once the stenciling was done, ran each card through the
Aida Cloth Texture Plate.
Honestly would have played with this set for days,
but knew I had to make a card, so,

After adding some trims and bobbits, ended up with a thank you card.

I  sew wanted my tapestry to  be the star, but those haughty little red handled
scissors just had to steal the show.

Seriously can't believe the detail on these darlings.  In this case, die cut 2 pair, and
red embossed one, before cutting the handles and gluing them to the silver pair.
Also red embossed the the brad.

I had almost as fun photographing the card with little sewing notions!

I did  one panel on brown cardstock, first laying down a heavy coat of white
(distress oxide Picket Fence), then adding layers of color.
Stay tuned for this one...
