12 Kits of Occasions: September '18

Hello! And welcome to September's 12 Kits of Occasions!
A big BIG THANK YOU, Lindsey for our monthly kit photos!
Kim Higgins, from Cupcakes Cards and Kim, is our hostess this month,
and she gave us all the above sea themed goodies.
Under and Over that is! If it swims or floats, it was in our package.
Kim has a guest this month, one of our own, Joyce Mehrberg.
Be sure to visit her, Joyce always wows with her creations!

Starting off with 2 mermaids and a shaker.

I so love MFT's Mermazing Mermaids! Had to give them a shaker to float on!
Those are Poppystamps' Mermaid sequins, and PTI's Pierced Oval frame.
The darling mermaid paper, and sentiment were in the kit.

Hard to see in the big photo, but there's a bit of Sheer Shimmer Spray on the mermaids.

Ellen Hudson's Otters are on VaCa, and sending all of you 'Oceans of Love'.

I LOVED coloring the images to suit the papers Kim sent us.
PTI Scallop Frame.

Just had to give baby otter his own setting, and use that adorable sentiment!
PTI Reef Builders & Pierced Rectangle Frame.
Fish and shells included in the kit.

Kim also included the blue enamel dots. Just perfect for bubbles!

My girl on a raft has been floating a bit longer than she should, and has quite the tan.
Where's her sunscreen?! Oh, I can remember using baby oil to accelerate tanning in
my 'younger' days. Who ever thought skin needed protection???
The scallop frame was the piece left over from PTI's Scallop die cut.

Girl, seriously, at least wear a sunhat!

That's it for me! A big happy thank you, Kim for a kit I loved!

Hope you enjoyed, and hope you'll visit each of the 12 Kits' gals!
And don't forget to say 'hi' to Joyce!

Peace on Earth

A Transformation Tuesday and Michelle Leone has us transforming an
old feminine card into something with a holiday flare.

My former card was for a MIM challenge, and had decidedly feminine elements.

The re-do card had a gathering of elements with a background of snow from the new
Winter Fox Stamp Set. I love Heather's sweet faced fox, and stylized trees, and enjoyed
stamping him arctic blue.

Happy Happy Happy Halloween

MIM this week, is with Melissa. And she uses Printed Paper to package her wondrous treats!
Now Melissa can put together patterns and layers better than ANYONE I know. So to
play along creating a treat with pattern, I decided to go all out Halloween.

Looking through my PTI stash, I found a basket die that I forgot I had, Favor It Box #9.
Basically a basket for Easter, I used b/w Bitty Dot to make it hold Halloween Candy.
The dotty basket came together quickly. The tag took a bit more time.

I started with Tag Sale #12 and PTI striped pattern paper cut diagonally.
The sweet elements are from Spooky Smiles. All of them are from that set,
even the sentiments, and I copic colored each one. Only the little 'Tiny Tag'
is not.

If you're like me, and I know you are, you have a vast stash of ribbon.
My Halloween stash is so cute and I LOVED putting a few together to
form a junk bow like Melissa does.

Fun, fun treat box for one of my grandkiddies. Meanwhile I think I'll just
leave it on display!

Give Thanks

Hi there! Hope it's a lovely autumn day you're enjoying!
I'm playing along with the gals at Just Us Girls today, with
this photo inspiration:

Fall is everywhere in this dreamy photo. Leaves of color, and
a truck on a journey left to the imagination.

I couldn't wait to ink up the new Glorious Globes: August, with the encircling fall
leaves, and pair with Seasonal Borders: August, both from PTI.

I kept it close to the colors of the photo, all traditional and warm.
Also cut into the card base with the Seasonal Border die.

The challenge runs through Saturday and there's lots of inspiration on
their blog!

Transformation Tuesday with Melissa

It's good to be back in the craft cave, with all my what nots handy!
Saw Melissa's post on the PTI Blog. Are you playing along with
Transformation Tuesday?

This week's 'transformation' is to use a card you love into another
card you love.

I enjoyed the card I made for the July Blog Hop. The colors were eye catching,
and I love working with layers!

My do again card uses the same layout, with a few new elements.

It's fall after all and the colors are beginning to change around me and my valley.
I love this time of year, when the cool down begins.

This time I used Cover Plate Deco, popping up the outside layer.
Same Shape Shifters: Oval, but with some fun map dp.

The whole sea themed stamps and dies released in July was a favorite!

Getting in a bit late with my re-do!
Thanks for stopping by!

Gather With A Grateful Heart

Hello, and thank you for visiting! I have a post today for MIM's challenge
featuring Laurie Schmidlin and Faux Gilded Leaves.

My DH and I are visiting our daughter, and I brought some supplies to play with
while away. Fortunately Leaf Prints was one of the sets I brought along.
Laurie mixed her embossing powders to create a gilded look on her leaves. So
much fun, I can't wait to do this again!

Forest Floor: August had this cool shaped banner, and I loved the sentiment,
and the darling acorns, so they got some gilding too.

Text and Texture: Leaves and Pierced Rectangle Frames.
The powders I used are from a set I've had, of course with no names on them.
The iridescent aqua looks so good with the copper, I love using them together.
Then there's the gold and a touch of silver, just pure richness!

Laurie, thank you! Your card and tutorial were fabulous!

Have fun, and play along on the PTI blog.

Praying for you

Hi! I'm playing along at a new challenge, for me, Muse.
My friend Tracey is the muse for the card challenge blog this week, and
we're asked to use her lovely card to inspire one of our own.

Tracey created this masterpiece of simplicity with Altenew florals.

Absolutely captivated by her one layer beauty with bright colors and
striking layout, and I followed it closely.

My Altenew florals come from Garden Treasure, sentiment from Bamboo Rose.

Create Along Wit Us: September Release

Hi PTI Peeps! It's Create Along With Us time, a chance to look carefully
at technique, color and of course, the fabulous new stamps and dies being
released this month, by the designers.

I loved the colors Laurie used on this beauty.

Her leaves against an aqua bg was my starting point.

Now I love all the Bold Borders Lizzie's inventive mind has created, but until I have it,
Cover Plate: Winter Floral has some of the fronds I was looking to watercolor.
I LOVED the added chunky glitter on her card, so I glittered the flowers and little acorns.
Not nearly the wow effect Laurie's card had,
so I put a few sequins on the center.
