A Tub of Get Well Wishes

Going through my stash of ready mades, and realized I had very few 'Get Wells'.

That, and the longing to dive into my Greetery order, prompted this card.

The copper tub was aged with a paste I've had for years. I rub it on with my finger,
and was delighted to see it make the ridges of the tub pop.
The greenery is watercolored. Very simply, spritzed with water, and color dabbed
onto the wet paper. As it is drying, I add more color and  let that dry.
Look carefully behind the fronds, and you'll see I added a  couple of
vellum die cut pinwheels from the Hey Cupcake set. I thought it helped the stalks
of green stand out from the wicker background.

Glad to see this new banner and sentiments included in the release.
All products listed below.
Thanks for the visit! Have a great summer!

The Card Concept: Summertime Fun

Hello Crafting friends! It's June 21st, and that means the first day of summer.
The Card Concept has a new challenge, and it's Summertime Fun.

Our photo inspiration has several summer/ocean/sea items for you to
get your crafting juices flowing, as well as color swatches. What is your
favorite? And what style will your card be?

I would definitely call mine Layered, but clean? Maybe more Mixed Media/Layered.
I used several Lindy's Starburst sprays for a mixed colored sand effect. And
watercolored the panel of waves.

Sunbather and accessories: Spellbinders: Day at the Beach

Hope you're inspired to play along. Pick a theme and be sure to add our photo
to your blog. Thanks for the visit, and hope your summer goes swimmingly!

A Birthday card for Carson

23 years ago today, my eldest daughter gave birth to our grandson.
Masculine cards can be challenging, and especially so for this card
maker that loves frills, layers and bright colors.

I think I got it whipped with The Greetery's new Urban Jungle.
Masculine colors, the fabulous large leaves collection and my
favorite, the Woven Cane die!

And what's better than one tear strip tag? 2, of course!
All leaves watercolored, and the stencil strip was from an idea
from Betsy during the release. I love the layers!

Can't wait to play with more from this fabulous release!
Enjoy the day! Craft!

The Flower Challenge Reminder #81: Use Your Favourite Flower

We're half way through the month of June, and it's time to remind you of
The Flower Challenge's Challenge: Use Your Favorite Flower.

If you saw my last post, (The Flower Challenge #81: Use Your Favorite Flower)
I told you the story of why the rose is my favorite.
My reminder card is again a rose, this time a rose named Joseph's Coat.

There is no amount of stamping, stenciling or die cutting that can capture
the beauty of this scented rose. It's coloring goes from scarlet to  pink to honey,
and each petal is ombre.

Once again I used Altenew's Ambridge Rose, this time the largest flower,
and the stencils that coordinate with it.
My background is inked, white and gold splattered, and stamped with
the Ambridge Rose leaves.

Congrats is from The Greetery, Graduate as well.
Memory Box: Stitched Rectangle  Trimmings.

Hope to see your favorite flower in The  Flower Challenge. You have
plenty of time, so choose 2 favorites... or three!

Get Well and Feel Better

Hello and welcome!
My Greetery order arrived and I couldn't wait to play with the new
dies! Oh that cane! And after seeing Dawn's post on the Greetery with the
colorful Monstera plant, that decided it. The monstera leaf gets first place
in playtime!

I watercolored the leaves first. Easy peasy, just water sprayed and dabbed with with greens
and Paynes Grey.

The background is sponged inked before I added the cane (did I mention I LOVE
that die?) Splatters  added at the end.

Needed a few 'get wells' for the stash, and these leaves will definitely brighten
the dullest day.

Perfect tag for the Urban Jungle theme!

So many amazing fun dies in my order... must make more cards!

Happy crafting

The Card Concept: Industrial Modern or Nature Calls

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept, and once again, you get to
choose: Industrial Modern or Nature Calls.

I did a card inspired by the Nature calls photo. My card is Clean and Layered.

I loved all the elements in the photo of Nature Calls, but I didn't necessarily
follow the masculine vibes. Mine is a salute to a summer birthday, with
a sea theme.

I used a couple of oldies from PapertreyInk, Salt Air: Flora and Fauna.
The die cuts are mounted within The Greetery's Curio Divider & Details die.

I've always loved the darling turtle in this set, and gave him a Glossy Accents eye.

Play for 2 weeks and remember, add our photo to your blog post to be eligible
to win.

Have a wonderful week!

The Flower Challenge #81 Use Your Favourite Flower

Greetings,  friends and welcome!  The Flower Challenge for the month of June is:
Use your favorite flower.

I don't know about you, but  that's like choosing a favorite child!

A quick and dear memory to share...
my mother's middle name was Rose, and my father planted 270 rose bushes along
the front of our ranch. To see them in bloom each spring was a city treasure!
So, had to go with the rose! In this case, Altenew's Ambridge Rose set.

Altenew includes stencils, with their set, which I began with,
but ended up painting with my copics.
Background die: Honeybee Springvine layering die set.

The Flower Challenge runs through the 25th of each month.
If you're in a quandary about choosing a favorite flower... play twice!
Or thrice, you get the picture!
