Paper Sweeties February 2016 Inspiration Challenge #40

It's February and time for a new challenge at Paper Sweeties!
Here's our inspiration

Pink and pretty, with lots of snow!
What inspired me?

Of course the colors, and the need for a lot of valentines in February!
Can't get enough of the new heart die!
Hope you can play along for a chance to be our guest designer, and
a 25. shopping spree!
Be sure to check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team,
and a big welcome to Carrie Sheridan, our Guest Designer!

12 Kits of Occasions January

Well, hello there, and welcome to my first post as a member of
the '12 Kits of Occasions' team!
Beyond excited to be asked and overjoyed to join!
Wonderful designers that are not only the very best, but friends too,
which, truthfully, is why I love this craft, making friends!
Lindsey from Occasional Crafting is our hostess for the month of January.
Our kit was full of celebration, and bright happy images.

I may have overdone for my first time as a team member, but honestly, could easily have done another 6 with all Lindsey included!
OK,  enough intro, and hope your comfortable, there's a lot to show you, so let's get to it!

Ellie triplets? Couldn't resist putting these cuties together on a card!

Yep! All those seed beads were in the kit!
Can't wait for an occasion to send this out to brighten someone's day!

This gorgeous gold embossed elements panel just begged for shimmer watercolors!

Sweet, springy pattern paper begged for kissing bunnies!

All gold with shiny bling!

Wonderful sentiment for someone extra-special!

This little guy holds a thank you to Lindsey!

Hope you enjoyed, and hope you visit each designer. And give
some love along the way!

PTI January 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

Good Monday Morning, and welcome to PTI's January Blog Hop!

Nichole challenged us with this photo:

Bright, bold graphic, surfboards???

I went with a couple of masculine style cards, something I'm always needing.

Stenciled Cover Plate: Twist Die, embossing paste and ink refils.
SAF '16: 1960's graphic dies (love those fun shapes!)
Sentiment: Wet Paint die

Used the stencil again on a black bg.

I stamped a woodgrain pattern on the larger orange image
(BB: Farm & Barn).
Can't wait to see how others interpreted the challenge photo.
Hop on over to Nichole's Blog!

Matchbox Valentines

MIM at PapertreyInk and Lexi Daly's Matchbox Valentines

This was so much fun. I think I'll do more for the granddaughters.

Lexi did several, one of which housed a tiny notepad.
I know the girls will love the mini papers just right for little notes.
I used mini post-it-notes.
Just right sized at 3 x 3".

Nostalgic Notions papers, stamps, dies and button,
 Pure Poppy cardstock.

SSS Wed. Challenge: Ombre

Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge is 'Ombre'.
They're showcasing  Hero Arts, so I searched through my stamps to find
this sweet 'Iced Donut' I've had for awhile.
I cased Wanda Guess' fabulous layout here:

The donut is stamped, copic colored, and fussy cut.
Foam mounted onto a MFT die cut.
The dp is PTI's Ombre Stripes.
Background is ombre inked with Ranger's Distress Spiced Ginger,
Abandoned Coral, & Picked Raspberries.
The little hearts are die cut, and glossy accented, before adding to
the medallion and mini clothespin.

More GA and some Prisma Glitter on the sprinkles.

Loved all Wanda's layers, and loved playing with the different patterns and colors.

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Rewind

Welcome back for the Paper Sweeties' January's Release Rewind.
I'm back with a card I did using the new stamp set,
With Love.
1st stamped with white embossing powder, and then sponge inked,
the detailing really shines!
The center is a leftover piece from it's matching SC, also inked.
It just begged to be paired with PS Happy.

Only Zing EP can match Tim Holtz' brilliant inks!
I'm sending this card, and needed to finish off the inside, as well
as create a matching envelope.

I rock and rolled the stamp over my inks, and sponged a bit on the inside of the heart
where the address goes.

I have a stash of designer papers (lighter weight) from years ago,
I use for envelope liners. It gives the card such a finished look!

And the inside where you write your message, don't forget to personalize that!
What could you do with this lovely stamp?

Well that's it for now.
Thanks for the visit, and be sure to
continue on with the teammies!

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Party!

Hi everyone! And welcome back for Paper Sweeties Release Party!
The new heart and die set has won everyone over!
My card today features it as a frame for Sophie.

Sophie's helping her sweet hearts to blossom and grow.
I just love to give my cards a love story!
And PS stamps and dies are perfect for staging a scene!
This card has a lot of foam lifts.
Here's a view from the side.

When you die cut the big heart, it gives 2 pieces, so you have a ton of design options.
As you can see, I die cut and stacked the trim piece 4 times to give it a
 'lifted' frame
Paper pieced and GA'd the watering can,
(Live Love Grow) and glittered a few of the hearts.
Love those PS sequins!

Paper Sweeties January 2016 Release Countdown

Back with another card, featuring a new stamp set
Paper Sweetie is releasing on the 15th,
called, Sweet Treats and Sweet Treat Sweet Cuts.

Just in time for Valentines, a gum ball machine!
I made a shaker filled with sequin hearts I had in my stash.
The hearts on the check paper are a stamp included in the set.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Release day!

You're a Gem

It's Create Along With Us time at PTI,
and I chose this beauty by Melissa Phillips

She perfectly showcased the new butterflies, by
watercoloring them onto a Tagsale #5.

Here's my card

I used the gem stamp from You're a Gem,
rock and rolling the stamp in colors that I found in her inspiration photo, here:
Used the same swirl stamp from Fancy Flourishes on my tag,
and Background Basics: Needlepoint on the background piece.
My bow is hand dyed with copics. You just put a few drops of
color into a baggie, add some water, and the seam binding,
and it dyes the color you want.

My gems sort of lost their definition when I added the glossy accents.
You have to look closely to see the facets!
I think butterflies or a solid flower would have been a better choice,
and I could have added the stitching Melissa did on her card.
Next time!
