12 Kits of Occasions: May~ June Celebrations

It's 12 Kits time, and this month we feature all the celebrations of June
courtesy Tracey McNeely. Tracey sent us a whole host of images for
dads, grads, teachers, and those we want to thank.
I'm starting off with this Father's Day card for my hubs,

The reveal wheel says it all. As you turn the wheel, a new sentiment is revealed.

Next up, a card for a teacher.

My grandson will give this to his teacher. I love the sentiment!

Tracey included this Gerbera Daisy, I colored with copics.

Another Thank you card built around the letters that spell 'thanks'. The Concord & 9th
feathers border a panel that is a C9 turnabout I had in my stash.

And one more card celebrating a child's graduation.

Hope you're ready for summer, and summer's special celebrations. And
hope you found some inspiration today.
Lots more on the other 12 Kits blogs!

Thank you, Tracey! Loved every bit, especially all the fabulous plaid papers!

Rock Out

We have a new challenge at the Card Concept, Pink Retro!
Drum Roll please.... Inspiration Photo!

Oh happy day when you just happen to have the right set for a challenge!
MFT has a die set called 'Turntable' that I had! Following along with a
few very talented designers' samples, Laura Bassen, aka LauraFadora, being
my favorite among other favorites.

Went feminine glam 3-D with this card. Floral two sided dp from my stash. Sorry, don't
know the manufacturer.
Sentiment: MFT's For the Record.
I fussy cut a few blooms from the paper, and added the fern from MFT's Stitch Blooms.

Front of the turntable I added PTI's bow die and another hi-lighted bloom from
the paper.

The 3-D turntable folds flat to easily fit inside an A2 envelope for mailing.
Here's a link to Laura's You Tube video for directions:

Card Concept has several styles for you choose, but as I've done,
you can choose your own.
Hope you play along! How are you inspired by the photo?
Can't wait to see!

Happy Crafting!

Gift Terrariums

We have a group of special ladies that meet to celebrate birthdays, and each
of us brings the others a little treat. (Not to mention gifts if your birthday falls
in that month!)
I'm bringing my special peeps a terrarium filled with chocolate rocks, and a
small paper succulent.
Betsy's Greetery Terrarium die cut from copper shimmer paper
and Greetery's Botanical Succulent dies.

During Betsy's release, she made these sweet terrariums, and even has a you tube
video how to I watched. I ordered the chocolate rocks from Amazon, as
Betsy did, and honestly, they taste great and look real!

Some of the succulents I cut from Vintage Jadeite, some from Aqua Mist, and a few
from Green Parakeet.

I'm so happy with how they turned out. I'm sure the gals will love them.

Have a great weekend. Hope it's crafty!

Tag You're It: Reminder

Hi friends! I just love making tags, don't you?

I have a reminder tag for the current Tag You're It Challenge.

I started with the PPP Decorative Tag 2, and backed it with the Stamp Market's
Floral Background. No sentiment yet. Definitely going on a feminine gift for
someone special.

When the doors are open you see more of the floral bg. The tag is decorated with PTI's
Humming Along.

Are you playing along?
Hope to see your creations in the lineup!
And hope you have an extra crafty week!

The Flower Challenge: Embossing & Altenew's Card Challenge

Hi my crafty friends!
I'm playing along with the Flower Challenge, a blog I've fallen in love with, where
the call is to use embossing: heat or dry.
Let's hear it for florals!

I used a stamp and die set from Altenew called Book Club.
Before I embossed my Aqua Mist yardstick, I stamped the leaves from
Wallpaper Art (Altenew)and inked the leaves loosely.
sentiment PTI Birthday Classics: June.

The flowers were colored on Olive Twist cardstock with Faber-Castel Polychromos pencils
after embossing in white.

My birthday stash is growing steadily. Don't you just love having birthday cards
ready to give?

The flower Challenge has a prize from Altenew this week, and runs through
the 25th. Plenty of time to play along...

Altenew's photo challenge is pictured here:

Cool photo with so many possibilities!

Have a blessed week!

The Card Concept: Mosaic Madness

Hey cardmakers, it's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.
Here's your inspiration photo:

So many ways to go with this one. I chose to focus on color, and
the mandala style.

Here's my inspiration for you

One focal image, using the inspiration photo colors, and PTI's Flower Mandala.

Here's how I created my own background:

I used the dies from the Flower Mandala and cut several images from vellum.
Using 3 inks, and the vellum as a stencil, I inked, and changed the position of
the vellum overlapping colors and images. When done, I used a Cuttlebug embossing
folder to give some texture.

I would say this is an elegant and layered card.

I'd love to see how you interpret the inspiration photo. Color? Shape?
Layout? Or just a style you love.

Have a wonderful week!

Tag You're It: Spring Colors

Hello and welcome to a new Tag You're It Challenge!
I'm up today with this photo and 'Spring Colors'.
Check it out here: Tag You're It #87

And here's a little inspiration for you using the colors in the photo.
I watercolored the tag from Stamplorations, and the bird & branch from
PTI's Songbirds. The stamped black leaves are from PTI's Doodle-Do.
 Hope you play along!
Thanks for the visit!

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Tags

Well it seems each week a Laurie chooses a favorite, I find myself saying,
'that's my favorite too!'
This week it's tags. I LOVE making tags. Special ones for special gifts
that are going to special people.

These fun birthday tags are going on gifts to a special guy in my life.

Easy and bright, and hopefully on the boy-ish side, they came together in a snap with
PTI's dies.

A Tunnel Card

Have you ever made a tunnel card? Laurie asks us to choose our favorite layout in
this week's 'Laurie's Fabulous Favorites' with PTI.

My favorite layout is one that hi lights a sentiment. But I also love to use
elements to showcase a theme. Such as I've done here, with my sea theme.

I used the Salt Air: Flora & Fauna sets on a tunnel card I learned from Jennifer McGuire
and her YouTube post here: jennifer mcguire tunnel card.

 Here's the inside:

This is so much fun to make. All the elements dance in perspective as you open the
card. But when closed it becomes flat enough to slip into an envelope.

Here's what it looks like when it's opened.

It's so easy to follow Jennifer as she explains the steps involved to assemble a tunnel card.

It's become a favorite layout for a card.
Hope you give it a try. think you'll love it as much as I do.

Happy crafting!

Be Still and Know

Another scripture card made with Betsy's new stamps and dies. I'm completely in love with
the Greetery's Fleur Impressions. The 3 step stamps + stamens = the look of an Impressionist
painting . Tucked into the terrrarium with verse was a joy to create.

I stamped the background before adding the solid terrarium die cut. Then built the scene
within the terrarium.

All Altenew Inks. Talk about vibrant! Love the many colors and how glorious they
stamp!

Hope you have a wonderful week. Plan to spend time planting some
much needed color in some pots outside. Hope you don't mind if I
post some pictures when they're done...

Let Us Rejoice & Be Glad

Hello everybody!
Just a post today celebrating Betsy Veldman's new shop, the Greetery.
Her first release is over the top wonderful, and I was fortunate to purchase
some of my favorites the first night. I say some, because there are a few more
in my cart and on my wishlist, because the some ran out. While
I'm overjoyed for Betsy, I'm longing for more. Honestly loved every one!

I've been playing with Botanicuts Succulents and a new to me watercolor/ink set
from Ecoline. Dawn McVey used them during the release, and the intensity caught
my eye. They are indeed bright, and mix well with water. I cut my petals from
watercolor cardstock (Arches Coldpress). Like I said, first time using these, and
they did take a bit getting used to.

Betsy's Terrarium die is just the most clever most versatile piece in the bunch!
So excited to have it, and cut it in several pieces of shimmer cardstock.

The terrarium can be separated so that the back is solid, while the front wire can be
anything from a window to a shaker. I added some real sand to my terrarium
before tucking in my 3 succulents.

A snippet of macrame finished the top.

Other Greetery products: Comforting Commands, & Fleur Impressions.

Each sentiment from Comforting Commands fits nicely in the top of
the terrarium, and I plan to do a set of these for a friend at church.

Beginning to see the Greetery on Pinterest and Instagram. Guess I'm
not the only fan!

Have a great weekend. Hope it's crafty!
