Friday, November 21, 2014

Hi, hope you weekend is off to a happy start!
Busy doesn't begin to describe it here at the Penir compound!
The Thanksgiving holiday is a riotous assembly of bodies, beds, decorating for Christmas
and an endless supply of laughing and baking!

Very excited to be guest designing for Festive Friday,
with this lovely photo for inspiration.

Don't know about you, but I see rich pine green and pinks glowing against white.
It helps to have a new die from Poppystamps called: Addison Ornament.

Lacy and delicate, no need to overpower with too much.
Kept it simple with Poppystamps: Diamond Background,
and a vellum banner from PTI's Make It Market Tinsel & Tags.
Cardstock: PTI

My thanks to Ardyth and the talented gang at Festive Friday!

MIM #189: Impression Line Water Coloring

Played with some new dies and Erin's MIM video
on Impression Line Water Coloring.

Her lovely bloom was perfection, but I needed a masculine
birthday card, which I always put off making.

I impressed Star Shaker die, and a star that's in the set, and included the confetti star maker.
The center of the star cut out when I ran it through, but I liked it, so I added some
glitter to a piece from Make It Market, Shakers & Sprinkles Pattern Pack.
I actually had Twinkling H2O's, which gave the neatest sheen to the stars.
'Shine' was cut from Sparkle and Shine Words and a glitter paper I found at Michael's.
Sketched Stars cut from shimmer gold.

Haven't you loved this month's sets?
Lots of holiday fun, and a new outfit for the sweeties!

Sweet Cuts: Holly Days has the die to match the ornament!
Embossed with Stampendous Shabby Blue, and Petal Pink Liquid Pearls.
The star stamp also has it's own die (yay!)
Release Rewind lets us use our new stamps with the older sets.
I used the wreath from Season of Love.
I stamped  it 3 times to form a garland, then stamped again in shimmery embossing powder.
Peppermint twine from the PS shop.
Hard to see, but there's a 'string' above each ornament done with a silver gel pen.

Here's your list on everything new!

It's Release Day at Paper Sweeties!
Today you can buy all the wonderful stamps and dies you've seen!
I'm showcasing 2 stamp sets today and a coordinating die.

The snowy scene shaker was first stamped in grey from a new set called Happy Holidays,

The sentiment is also from this set.
The holly is from Sweet Cuts: Holly Days, and Holly Days Stampset.
The scene fit perfectly in a window cut with a die from Sweet Cuts: Beautiful Little Wishes.
Debbie sells the Strawberry twine, which she sent me in my happy mail! (Yay!)
You can also find the Rusty Bells in the Paper Sweeties shop.
There are 4 new stamp sets this month, and 2 coordinating die sets.

Paper Sweeties November Release Countdown!

Hi, and welcome back for Paper Sweeties Release countdown!
It's November, and this month Debbie has a new outfit for the sweeties,
a nightgown, with sweet nighttime images, and sentiments.

The set is called I Love You, and I had fun paper piecing, right down to her bunny slippers!
The snowflakes in the wallpaper behind Emma were made with another new set.
So are the 'blocks' which is a strip stamp spelling out the word 'merry'.
'Believe' is from last month's release.
Paper Sweeties sequins in her hair.

Did you visit all the other designers?
Here's a list if you missed any.
Tomorrow's release is a big one!
Be sure to come back for more inspiration!

Poppystamps Challenge #2 - Thankful

Poppystamps is hosting their 2nd challenge, this one calling for
'Thankful' cards.
There are many reasons to buy their gorgeous dies,
my incentive for these 2 'leafy' ones were seeing what their
talented designers did with them!

I die cut Maple Leaf Border twice, once with Linen card stock, then with vellum.
Leaf Silhouette was also die cut three times, once with Copper Shimmer, for the border and then with inked cardstock.
Ranger Tim Holtz Distressed inks: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Ripe Persimmon.
Rustic Cream card stock was edge-inked with Pumice Stone.
Sentiment: PTI Autumn Hills
Embossing powder: Lindy's Stamp Gang: Copper
A bit of copper shimmer edging, and some rainstones finish.

Play along through the end of the month!

Paper Sweeties November Sneak Peeks!

It's November 13th, and time for Paper Sweeties to release their newest

And you're in for a treat!
4 stamp sets and 2 die sets!
I'm showcasing a holiday set today, called Home Made With Love, featuring this wonderful cup (coffee, tea, chocolate?),
complete with steam, candy cane.

And ya gotta love that it has dies to match those wonderful images!

The snowflake on the cup and background card is also from the set.
So is the sentiment stamped onto the PS banner.
Robin's Egg Seam Binding from PS,

I'm totally smitten with this month's release,
you won't want to miss a single day!

MIM #187 Santa Snowglobe

Loving this week's MIM with Melissa!
Post 3 uses the Shaker Snow Globe as an ornament.

Frosty branch from Songbirds.
Where's the partial die cut?
I split a snowflake from Snowflake Medley, embossed and stickled it.
Stickles around the globe and top snowflake.
A bit of gold ink on edge softened a bit.
My tag stash is growing, can't help loving that!

Quick pix of the door my woodworking son did for our playhouse!
It's a work in progress.
So happy with how it turned out!
3 windows to go!
Maybe by Christmas?

MIM #187 Partial Die Cut Ornament

2nd Post for partial die cuts, this time with the fancy Delicate Details.
Melissa Phillips shows us on Make It Monday how to use die cuts
to decorate our die cuts!

Ornament Shaker is the base, cut with a christmas paper.
The top of the ornament, 2 leaves from 1940's stamp a faire die and topped with
a Pure Poppy button.
Rimmed the edge with gold ink and
blinged up the die cut with Stickles, but you real need a steady hand!
Love the shimmer paper!
Super easy to do these. Such a lovely shape!

MIM #187: Partial Die Cuts for the Holidays

Melissa Phillips shares her love for details in this week's MIM
at PapertreyInk.
If it's layered, detailed, blinged or beribboned, LOVE!

The holidays bring happy times for my family.
Cookie Exchanges, parties, (we have 3 birthdays in November, and
4 birthdays in December!)
There are always gifts to give or exchange, so I was thrilled when Nichole introduced
the 'Canned' collection of stamps & dies.

The last time Melissa was in the spotlight, she painted and decorated her
food jar.
For this MIM, I want my contents to show, so, only the label is on the
glass.

I used PTI's Doilies dies, and the littlest snowflake from Fancy Flakes
to do the partial die cuts on the top of the Folded Foodie tag.

The folded tag is decorated with the gingerbread man from: Tremendous Treats Christmas,
and a Pure Poppy button.

Jar Bonnet Collection for decorating the top of the jar.
His buttons are done with Viva Glass Effect Gel pen in Carmine.
(Love the way this comes out of the pen, and dries like a pearl!)

Gingerbread cookie mix in a jar ingredients are hand written (sad handwriting!),
easy breezy instructions.

Tag back.
Canned has all the sweet sayings included.
Even that little flower on the top!

Target carries these 4oz. jars, perfect for including the 1/4 Cup molasses needed.
Except the butter, all the ingredients are included in the quart jar (also from Target).

The little molasses jar fits inside the filled quart jar perfectly!

Just create a well on top, and slip the little jar in!

These are really easy assembly line gifts for the holidays,
and who doesn't love the sweet contents
and their baked goodness?

I think it would be fun to include a little gingerbread man tied on
if you want to 'over the top' - it.
(Not at Target yet!)
