Reminder #85 'Anything Goes' and 7th Birthday

We're celebrating a birthday over at The Flower Challenge, and our theme
this month is 'Anything Goes'.

A special celebration calls for a special flower, and my card features Altenew's
very glamorous  'Golden Days.'

First hotfoiled, then stenciled, with a slight darkening  with pencil, simply done before
adding the  die cut sentiment.

There's still plenty of time to join the  celebration.
The post closes on the  25th.

Happy 7th Birthday Flower  Challenge!

Blessings

It's a gloomy gray Thursday today where I live. The fires to the north of me
are 18%  contained, and we are living with the most toxic air I've ever seen.
What to do with a gloomy gray day...  craft!

Blessed to have my Greetery order, and blessed with a day to play!

The new Botanicuts are a mushroom lover's fantasy. I kept them rather white for
this card, but I'm not done playing with color.

I'll list all the new stamps and dies at the end of this post. Let me just say, it's way too
hard NOT to push that 'bundle' button!

Hope your day is clear and full of Blessings!

The Card Concept: Blessings

Hi my friends. It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

I don't know about you, but who can resist a photo with a bouquet of
flowers? That and the silver in the photo inspired my Blessings card.

I've had Altenew's gorgeous Open Bloom 3D Die Set sitting on my desk since
before Christmas. Finally had the chance to play with them!
The background panel is a stencil from Memory Box called Leafy Jumble.
I lightly inked the corners, then stenciled on silver paste. When dry, I added
droplets.

I don't know why it took me so long to use this set. But I don't know if I can
put it away! The final flower is gorgeous, isn't it? Can't wait to try more colors.
I cut all the pieces from white cardstock and inked them with
Altenew pinks and greens.

Play along at the Card Concept blog.
Our challenges are for 2 weeks.
My sentiment, 'Blessings' is for all of you...

Be blessed, and stay safe and well!

Card Concept: Hello Spring

It's time for a look at the new inspiration for the Card Concept's Challenge.
Every 2 weeks CC hosts a challenge based on the style of your choice.
This challenge is called: Hello Spring. Here's your inspiration photo:

Now you could choose colors, elements, style, layout... anything tickle your
fancy? I have to be honest, I chose all of the above!

The photo had a pitcher of flowers, I chose to do a watering can (Poppystamps) full of
posies. My vibrant flowers are Washi tape on white card stock, fussy cut and
arranged around the top of a watering can, selectively embossed with liquid platinum.
With so much time on my hands, fussy cutting is a good way to spend some happy time!
The die cut oval is from the Greetery. (Halfsies Die)
Sentiment: Easter Jubilee, also from the Greetery

I called my card, Elegant and Layered.

What inspires you from the photo? Hope to see your creation in the lineup!

Happy crafting friends!
Below is a list of supplies from Poppstamps and Memory Box.

Anniversary Card

Happy New Year!
I have an anniversary card to share with you. My daughter and my SIL are
celebrating a winter anniversary, and I just recently got the Greetery's
Inside & Out Berry Branch. They sold out, and I was so happy Betsy restocked
it so soon.

I really wanted to keep the feel of winter with the elements and color,
so kraft and grey was where I started.

The gorgeous bow was another late purchase (also sold out until recently),
and I doubled it with pale pink underneath the red.

The sentiment is a combo of 2 sets, Just Mason Around and Bountiful Wreath.
I love the loose script on the blessings, not to mention I LOVE including the
word Blessings to any card!

Have you had a chance to use any of the Greetery's new sets? They glam up
a card front like no other! Love the new frame too!

Blessings to you in the new year!
And welcome 2020!

The Card Concept: Thanksgiving Table

Happy Holiday Greeting to you!
With the holidays around the corner, I love to send autumn card to an inner
circle of aunts, and close friends.

My card today is an inspiration for the Card Concept Challenge which features this
photo and begins today.

Isn't this a gorgeous photo? And you can take your inspiration from
any of the elements for your card. I used the colors from the vase of
flowers for my Layered and Elegant card.

Hope you're off to a good start with all your holiday projects. And hope you play
along with this week's Card Concept Challenge.

Card Concept 100th Post Celebration!

Hello! And welcome to my post today.
The Card Concept is celebrating it's 100th post and challenge,
and we are bringing you double inspiration!

Each of us has invited a special guest to our celebration.
My guest designer is someone you all probably know, Marcia Hill from
Marcia's Stampin' Pad.

Here's my card:

As you know, we at the Card Concept follow design styles, or combine them, or even
create a style of our own.
I combined a few this week, calling my card 'layered elegant'.
A little touch of gold in the sentiment, adds a bit of elegance to any card,
and I was inspired by the gold on the pumpkins in the inspiration photo.

Can't wait to see how you are inspired and hope you'll play along this week!
Be sure to visit Marcia's blog and give her some love!

Have a great week, and Happy Crafting!

Like a certain stamp or die I used?
They are all PapertreyInk, and my links will take you to their store.

You're a Blessing

Day 8 at PTI's Anniversary celebration is a Color Challenge

I used the colors from Heather's gorgeous card, choosing to do a 1 layer card
and color with my Polychromos Pencils.

Stamps: Friends 'Til the End and Pen & Ink
Paper: Kraft & Stamper's Sellect.

Much of my day is spent with my mom, as she is in hospice. The coloring makes the
time pass, and there's such joy in both doing what I love and loving being at
her side.
I thought this card fully expressed how I feel about this wonderful
community of crafters. You're all such a blessing to me!

Hugs, Nancy

SAF '17 with Stephanie Gold: Cotton

Stephanie Gold in her very 1st SAF, made a glittery card full of cotton candy!
Well, it certainly looked every bit like the real thing.
One of the things she showed us on her video, was applying glitter.
And that's one of the things I used on this card.

Using double sided tape in 1/4 & 1/2", I sprinkled on black German Glass Glitter, pressing it
down for even cover. Stephanie suggests topping off with GA to seal it. I didn't.
My cotton is cotton string, dyed with Terracotta Tile reinker. Rather turned out pink, but like
the ombre effect on the string.

Projects coming soon! Isn't this fun?

Autumn watercolor

Sharing some fun news I just learned about.
There's a brand new card challenge, 'CasWatercolor', by
Loll Thompson and Bonnie Klass, from Cas Mix Up Challenge.

I love to watercolor, and so glad it's such a hot and trendy technique
to use on cards.

Watercolored and stamped die cut leaves from PTI's Leaf Prints.
I used Windsor Newton watercolors, from a tube, to get
the intense fiery colors on the leaves.
I stamped and watercolored a few leaves onto 3 1/2 x 4 1/2" watercolor card stock, using PTI's Simply Chartreuse & Olive Twist inks.
Flicked some Mr. Hueys white spray
and Olive Twist over the stamped images.
Sentiment from PTI's Color Pop Autumn.
'Bountiful' white embossed, then inked with Liquitex Iridescent Bright Gold.
'Blessings': Olive Twist. (PTI)

Background card stock is a left over from a challenge.
1st stamped with PTI's Background Basics: Super Chevron,
then watercolored randomly and splattered with Harvest Gold ink.

Play along all during the month of October,
and this is a design team call until the 15th!

August 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for PTI's August Blog Hop, and Nichole
has given us this photo for inspiration this month,

Ink Blending was one suggestion to use, and the colors... soft pastels,
with a touch of navy!

I love to layer, it's one of the joys I get from card making. And I took inspiration
from the layers of color, and the metal on the paintbrushes.

Square frame from Don't Forget to Write.
Had a bunch of die cuts left, so did a second card.

Background was ink sponged with Melon Berry,
then embossing paste applied with the leaf stencil from Garden Gate.
Combination of translucent, metallic gold & metallic silver ep. (Wendy Vecchi)
Circle frame die from Don't Forget to Write
Stamps & Dies: Give Thanks, Paper Clippings: Thankful for You,
Mum's the Word,  Inspired: Blessings.
PTI Inks: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Melon Berry, Americana,
Stormy Sea, & Enchanted Evening.
A few clear sequins and rainstones to finish.
Did I mention, I love to layer?

Can't wait to see the gorgeous creations all lined up this month,
a sea of pinks and oranges, with a hint of navy!
