The Card Concept Challenge Signs of Spring or Butterfly Blues

As March rolls along, we're all anxiously awaiting spring. The Card Concept
has a new challenge for you, and you get to choose what to play with,
Signs of Spring or Butterfly Blues.

The inspiration for my Mixed Media card comes from the Butterfly Blues photo,
and the color swatches given.

My C9 die was cut from a panel I did with Magicals. In powder form, you sprinkle
the colors on your paper, in my case watercolor cardstock, and spray with water.
The result is 'magical'. The colors come to vibrant life, and achieved just the look
I wanted.

The die cut is popped up onto a panel sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang.
Sentiment: Simply Stamp Blessings/Beatitudes 1

Pick a favorite style and play along!

2 More Cards for Alisa

In my previous post I mentioned my daughter who asked for some of my cards.
These 2 will also go to her. Thank you cards and other basics she sends out to
her church friends.

Marcia Hill and I were sharing that we just can't seem to put the Greetery's
Wild Elegance away.

These 2 cards use Elegant Arches stamp, with. the center cut away. The butterfly and
dragonfly were both added along with blooms from Honeysuckle Stems.

The butterfly and dragonfly are stenciled. The flower is inked and pencil detailed.

Is it time to put these sets away? We'll see... Just might have to do a few more!

Birthday Butterfly

Good Saturday Morning! Have to say, we're having the strangest weather here in
my valley. Normally, end of July... hot, dry, and did I mention hot?
We're at the base of Yosemite, and the mountains are cloud covered, the air is
humid, and, still hot. We're also battling a fire in the Yosemite area. (Don't get me
started on poor government management).

Doing what makes me happy indoors, making cards.

When the Greetery has a release, I have no willpower. There I've said it.
This card is all newbies from their Sweet & Sunny collection.
I've done several cards, and love every set!

The butterfly, once cut, is stenciled, and I did it 4 times before I ended up with
what I liked. The card grew around it. Not sure why I've been on a pink and blue
theme lately.

The Leaves All Around stencil is such a beautiful frame. Love how Betsy's sentiments
and butterfly fit perfectly within. I 'borrowed' Betsy's idea of adding Hollyhocks
to the leaf garland.

This card's going in the Birthday stash. I can't ever, ever, EVER have enough
Birthday cards on hand!

Enjoy your weekend! Stay cool, and craft on!

The Card Concept Challenge: Butterfly Brilliance

We have a new challenge for you at The Card Concept, and our inspiration photo is
sure to stir your creative juices!

That butterfly! All I could do was stare at it's beauty! My card didn't stray far from
the photo's colors and layout.

The background is Stamp Market's and then sponge inked with Distress Oxide Inks.

And oh, that butterfly... the closest I could come to that amazing detail was an oldie
rubber stamp from Penny Black, which came alive with bright copics.

The blooms and fine stitched frame are Poppystamps.  And the script stamp: the Greetery.

The Card Concept challenges run for 2 weeks, lots of time to create a card,
or 2, and we love your sweet comments and creations! Be sure and read our
challenge rules, just a few, and to add our challenge photo to your post.

Looking forward to seeing your beautiful cards! Have a wonderful week!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Magic, Craft Room Challenge Things With Wings

Good Sunday Morning to you! We're headed for 106 today,
so a good day to craft inside with the air on!

We had a houseful this weekend, and all stayed up way to late last night, so while it's
quiet, and all are sleeping in, grabbing some me time to post  another card for SSS Monday's challenge: Magic!

Background made with SSS Bubbles and Bars Stencil, and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.
Also sprayed the Memory Box die cut with several starburst. colors
The 'magical' fairy is a Judikins Butterfly Fairy wood stamp.
She is twice embossed on PTI's Smokey Shadow card stock, then selectively bleached and copic colored. Added a few stickles to the wings.
For You sentiment: Waltzingmouse.
Some iridescent rhinestones add to the magic.

Challenge ends in a few hours, just getting this in under the wire!
