MIM this week features a tutorial by Melissa Phillips on Paper Piecing.
The first time I saw this done was by Melissa on one of her phenomenal layered cards.
I must admit, it wasn't until she shared her insights that I picked up on some
of the tricks!
You might call it "Piecing 101"!
Here's Hello Foxy all pieced together!
First chose some pattern paper from Echo Park's 'Sweet Girl'.
From there just went with the colors. Lots of simple patterns, and PTI's sweet "Hello Foxy" stamp set did all the work. OK, I fussy cut some!
Melissa is a design genius. I could study her techniques forever.
Each element hilights, accentuates and jaw-drops!
Check out her tutorial here:
Adorable Nancy! I just love this sweet card. Thank you so much for playing along.

ReplyDeleteNancy your little fox is adorable as is the rest of your card and all it's artful elements. Thanks so much for your kind comments and warm welcome to the PTI fold:)
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning - love the way you anchored the adorable fox on the white frame!
ReplyDeleteOh Nancy, your papers are gorgeous and the sweet little foxy is too adorable with her flowers atop her head perfectly matching the rest of her outfit ;-)

ReplyDeleteNancy, this is BEAUTIFUL! Incredible piecing of your fox~wow!
ReplyDeleteThe tag you asked about was built upon a recycled Union Bay (Kohls shorts) tag. I just trimmed off the name brand and stacked it up with scraps! Thanks for your sweet visit~ ;)
Oh Nancy I would never have thought to PP this little guy! Love this wonderful and so adorable card! So much to see and the flowers on little foxy are beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteYour paper piecing is just gorgeous! I love what you did with the little fox. CREATIVE! As usual:-)
ReplyDeleteYou have done Melissa proud. Your choices of colors and patterns, along with the great composition (even down to the wee butterfly), are fabulous. I've been all over your blog just now, since I haven't had a chance to do a lot of visiting lately, and boy have I missed seeing your creative mojo. I must stop leaving you comments now, and go back to work. I'll poke around, some more again, soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? She's the cutest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat a totally gorgeous card, Nancy! You are such a talented lady!
