Make It Monday with Betsy Veldman and 'Using Florals on
a Masculine Project.'
Betsy's card and video can be seen on Nichole's blog,
Have to say, Betsy's card blew me away, GORGEOUS!
The wood against the florals and wreath.
Eye poppin' drama with those striking contrasts!
My card uses some of the marbled paper, I created over a
crafty weekend. I haven't really put a dent in the stack!
If you haven't done this in a while, check out
you tube. There are so many how to videos.
I used the shaving cream technique, but there are several,
water, oil, even cornstarch!
In The Meadow die, gave me the curve. Too feminine?
Tried to follow the swirls of the marbling.
Florals: Bloomers, Meadow Greens, Spruce & Sprigs.
Sentiment: Happiness in Bloom
Marbling created with PTI ReInkers: Saffron Spice, Terracotta Tile, Melon Berry,
Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean.
PTI Cardstocks: Stampers Sellect White, Cocoa Bean, Terracotta Tile,
Saffron Spice, & Classic Kraft.
PTI Inks: Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Melon Berry, Classic Kraft.
A bit of copic on the berries. (Thank you Betsy for this tip!)
PTI: Twine

DeleteI can't type today either! Anyway, gorgeous and I love your selection of fall colors for your marbling.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Just depends on the guy, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove this card Nancy! Looks like you really had fun with the marbling - I need to give that a try. I tried it a couple years ago during SAF and my card smelled like shaving cream for a long time - does yours?
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! It does smell like shaving cream. All the more 'masculine'!
DeleteBeautiful, Nancy. The colors are rich and have a masculine feel.
ReplyDeleteLove this card, Nancy! How fun that it is a scratch and sniff too :-)
ReplyDeleteIf a masculine card can be pretty...this is!! If not...it's handsome!!
ReplyDeleteWOW...it's perfect Nancy!! I want to say so bad that it's "lovely", but I can't do that for a masculine card, can I?!! It's layered to perfection though and I absolutely LOVE your marbled piece and those handsome flowers...truly a fabulous card my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Nancy...yours always are!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful--or should I say handsome! I am intrigued how you made such a masculine card with flowers. I need to watch that video.
ReplyDeleteWow Nancy, this is gorgeous! Is that okay to say for a masculine card?? I love the marbled piece and have yet to try this technique.... ever!! I think I must live under a rock. After seeing so many fabulous cards using that technique, I'm hoping to try it soon. Your card is amazing as always and makes for a stunning man card!!
ReplyDeleteNancy, this card just screams masculine and Fall to me. The marbled paper and your choice of flowers and colors all blend so well together. And what a great idea to use In The Meadow in a vertical position!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful masculine card Nancy. That marbling is awesome. Great take on this challenge. You could enter this on CAS Mix Up Challenge because of the marbling.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh, that graceful curve. And beautiful colors, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteoh this is beautiful! That marbled paper is gorgeous. Love how you've used the In the Meadow die.
ReplyDeleteNancy, you nailed this challenge with your marbled strip and bloom arrangement. It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love the marbling, Nancy and the colors are perfection!
ReplyDeleteYour marbled paper really sets off your card design, Nancy. Your color choices for the florals are perfect also. I've never seen that sentiment before and will have to look up that set.
