Hey Cupcake was sitting on my worktable as I was thinking of a card for a
graduate. Not just any graduate, but a very special graduate. I know, all
graduates are special and deserve acknowledgement, but this one, well, she
worked very hard and achieved a doctorate!

Our own Ashley Marie Penir did it!
Her very special robe and cap, collar and pose with UCFresno's mascot  attest
to her greatness. No simple cap and gown on a card would do, not for Dr. Penir.

We share a love for all things sweet, especially a local treat from 'Nothing Bundt Cakes.'
Just the perfect sentiment for an awesome lady!

The Greetery's Sweet & Fancy Label Hot Foil, then die cut and absolutely perfect hip.
hip.hooray! embossed onto vellum.

Lots of sweet detail, such as double wrappers, layers of cupcake decoration, and gold
glitter.

A special card needs a special inside, so I used my freebee from  the Greetery to
stencil and complete my greeting.

Hope you enjoyed my post today. Still partying on this end with the family!

Have a wonderful week! Hope it's crafty!

Tag You're It with Bev Buenker

Hi and welcome to a new challenge at Tag You're It.

Bev Buenker has given us this b/w beauty with a touch of red as our inspiration.

I zoned in on the black and white stripes.

My tag is from a new mini market set by Betsy Veldman for PapertreyInk:
Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Tag Along
I cut the tag first from Black and then white, using one of the included dies to create the
diagonal stripes.
My cupcake is from Clearly Besotted's Tasty Treats.

I love cherry, and gave it some dimension with stamping.

I'd love to see what you do with the inspiration tag.

Happy Birthday

Melissa Phillips is up at PTI's MIM this week.
She is challenging us to use our colored pencils on kraft,
or some other darker card stock.
Melissa always wows. She's a master with every technique,
and her cards this week were filled with subtle layers and stamping textures.

So, of course, I had to try stamping layers with my colored
cupcake from Bakers Dozen.
Once I embossed the frame and cupcake in white, I masked it, and stamped
BB: Gingham all around it.
It was so much fun coloring it in! Lots of blending, all one layer.
Background card stock stamped with BB: Venice and Fine Linen ink.
I've done this technique before, and love the richness
it gives the images, once colored.
I used Prisma Watercolor Pencils

TYI Challenge #30

It's my turn to bring you inspiration for the Tag You're It Challenge.
I created a cupcake tag from PapertreyInk's Enclosed Cupcake die,
and made it a festive birthday tag.

You can choose a shaped tag, colors, celebration, or even confetti on your tag.

Meanwhile, here's another tag from the cupcake tag.

The cupcakes on this tag are stamps and dies from Paper Sweeties' Homemade With Love.
The vellum and bottom tag are PTI's Tag Sale #7,
Pattern created with a stamp from Waltzingmouse's Putting On The Ritz.
All the fun-fetti is die cut from Make It Market's Shakers & Sprinkles (PTI).
Can't wait to see how you're inspired.

Happy Birthday Card for MIM #198

A quick post for MIM,
found a bit of time and wanted to play along.
Ashley has a wonderful tutorial on Nichole's blog showing
how to create 3 panel cards.

Just received my Jan. order and couldn't wait to ink up a cupcake from Baker's Dozen, and die cut
the darling cake plate.

Can't have enough birthday cards ready to go in my family!

Bottom panel holds a giftcard, (that one's mine, haven't used it yet!)

Did an envelope to match.

And always finish with a 'handmade stamp'.

Besides Baker's Dozen, used Stitched Swirls,
Happy Notes, Ruby Rose, Handmade Hodgepodge and BB: Super Stripes.
All PTI card stocks and Inks except Hero's Wet Cement.
Abit of Glossy Accents on the hearts
& heart clips to close.

Just a few days left to play along,

I think this holds a record for most photos posted for a single card (ha!).
