Keeping Christmas: March

Hello, and welcome to March's 'Keeping Christmas'. We are a group of friends who
post Christmas cards and projects on our blogs once a month.
Now, I, like all of you, have been housebound for a few weeks, and passed time in
my workroom creating purses. Paper purses!
Have a look... but be warned, this post is photo heavy!

I found a whole lot of designer Christmas paper stash, and together with a new
die set from Concord & 9th, made 3 little handbags and one card.

Purse one: Double sided DP from Anna Griffin. All the papers I used are sturdy Cardstock
weight. I might mention too, I'll leave you a link or 2 on these dies and their construction.
Oh yes, the tassel, key fob and tag dies are included in the set... LOVE!

They open and close, and there's plenty of room for a gift card, candy, or small gift.

Cardstock from Poppystamps, released during last Christmas. I think the paper pad is still
available.

This double sided cardstock has candy canes on the reverse. So cute!

3rd purse is also an old Anna Griffin pattern. I played with the handles and corners to
make them look like patent leather by brushing on Glossy Accents.

One of the videos I watched on YouTube shows you how to align the purse body
die to make a card. And it fits perfectly into an A2 sized envelope.

Message embossed onto vellum, also cut with the purse body die.

Here's a closer look at the tags.

Like I said, the tag die and tie die are included in the set. I used an old PTI set
(Enclosed Wreath) and a Concord & 9th sentiment on the purse tag.

This one was embossed with C9's Everyday Purse Stamp Set.

This was simply cut from some dp cardstock. I fussy cut the holly and added Nuvo drops
and glitter.

So I may have gotten carried away with this tag, maybe a bit too much? Oh well...
you can tell I had way too much fun with this set. If you follow this blog at all
you know about 12 Kits of Occasions, another friend group I'm in. Next month
I'm the hostess. Shhh, don't tell the others... but this purse is included in their kits...

.
I hope you can forgive the long post, and I hope you found some joy in
remembering that better days are ahead. I wish you all God's grace and
blessings. Stay safe and well dear friends!

You Are a Masterpiece

Hello Crafty Friends!
Don't you love making a card for no other reason but that you want to?
Going through my ever growing Greetery collection of stamps and dies,
the Macra Made made me smile, so out came the dies.

Pot-Pourri plants and pot, with a background I made a while back.
Nuvo dots

Our church knows I make cards, and has asked if I'd supply cards when needed for
births, get well, encouragement, etc. I had to laugh when they offered to pay me
for them. "No", I said, "I'd love to give you whatever the occasion calls for". With
that purpose on my agenda, I've begun to do a stash of cards that are ready and on hand.

Ah... a purpose to be creative... life is good!

Happy Crafting, my friends!

Celebrate!

The challenge this week at Papertrey, is to use Lots o' Dots. Michelle Leone
hosts the video, showing how she adds color with Nuvo drops.

Since the 4th is right around the corner (where has this year gone!), I used the new
Kaboom stamp and die set, embossing in white, and adding Nuvo drops for color.

The fireworks are so much fun to play with. I cut down the main card front to 3 3/4
by 4 3/4", so I could add the stripe patterned paper and mat in red.
Not exactly Clean and Simple, as Michelle did, but explosive anyway!
Play MIM on the PapertreyInk blog through the week.

My links are direct access to the PTI shop, if something catches your eye,
I'd love if you'd order through me!
Thanks, and Happy Crafting!

HB2U

Well you can file this one under the, 'Who Knew' dept.
Ashley demonstrates using baby wipes to create her designer paper bg,
in this week's MIM at PapertreyInk.
That's right, BABY WIPES!

Ashley shows a couple of ways to use the wipes. I did a card
for my grandson, using the folded or rolled technique.

The reinkers I used are True Black & Harvest gold.

I kept it simple, letting those free form circles show.
After all, it's going to a 17 year old, who's definitely
more interested in the money inside!
The sentiment is black embossed onto a strip of 1 1/4" vellum.
Enamel dots created with Nuvo. Have you tried Nuvo?
Forms the perfect dot, any size you like.

Initial Sentiments: Birthday
The tiny dots randomly stamps are 3 dots from
Paper Clippings: Done in Love.

Also joining SSS Monday Challenge: Masculine

Enjoy your week!
