Altenew's Ultimate Challenge Blog hop

Hello! And welcome to the Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop
with Altenew!
The purpose of this hop is to raise awareness of all the challenge blogs
out there. Isn't that great? Love the idea of knowing what's available.

Tag You're It has been invited to join the hop,
and I'm so excited to bring you some inspiration
from the TYI team!

My tag uses Altenew's: Coffee Love.

Our featured artist, Melissa Bickford, gave us the most beautiful double tag
for our recent challenge. I used it for my muse.

Such a lovely double tag! Plenty of inspiration there.

Here's my recipe for my double tag:
Tag: PTI's Tag Sale #5.
Background tag has all over embossed coffee beans from the set:
Altenew's Coffee Love
Coffee pot embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platinum.
Sentiment is also embossed, coffee in Zing: Chestnut, and the rest,
Stampendous: Ivory
A few little stars and sequins,
and some chocolate brown satin ribbon tied with
embroidery thread, and my tag is ready to attach to a coffee gift!

There is incredible talent out there, so great to know and be able to join in!
Enjoy the hop!

Autumn Blessings

Papertrey Ink's Create Along With Us, and this beauty by
Amy Sheffer

As usual, a release full of amazing projects,
by the most talented designers.
Amy's lovely card with the stitched heart, and bright red against
white really spoke to me.

My card features Kay Miller's wonderful Stylized Autumn leaves and flowers,
so easy to make a card with her rich stamps and dies!
Didn't stray far from Amy's perfection.
Balance, & contrast of color.
With an Autumn theme.

Merry

Found out recently that Marcia Hill, from Marcia's Stampin' Pad,
is one of the new designers at Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge.
So happy for Marcia, love all her inspiration!
Getting in under the wire, but just had to play along with
Deanne's challenge photo:

Black, Gold & White! Holiday Glam!
I focused on the framed deer.

Not a single stamp used in this card, all die cuts!
Deer head  & laurel from Ellen Hudson: Laurel Wreath Set.
The frame is a combination of Gold Foil & Shimmer card stock from PTI,
cut from PTI's Cover Plate: Pretty Frame.
Merry is a die cut from Poppy Stamps 'Merry Christmas', (just used the merry)
Laurel is double cut, top is black glitter card stock.
Deer head is cut from Recollections gold glitter. (Michaels)

Birthday cones

Make It Monday, this week, features Danielle, showing us
a bright happy technique of taking our stamped images from
black and white to color.

First stamped all over design and sentiment using Colorful Treats.
Then cutout center with Basic Bookmark #1.
Masking each cone, so that my streamers (Hooray) were behind the cones,
and with the help of my misti,
then reverse masking so the streamers could be switched to color,
and be stamped in the same place.
Make sense?
Colored the inside portion of the tag with copics,
popped up the tag, and added a few colorful sequins on the inside,
black on the outside.
Love this technique! Such striking results.

5 Coinpurses

Had a busy labor day, working on coin purses for my 5 granddaughters.
They will have a little surprise inside, and be a back to school gift.
(Still thinking of something for the 6 boys!)

PapertreyInk Coin Purse die, and a new die set for me,
Stitched Folk Flower.
Also added a few blooms from: Sewing Staples: Floral Clusters.
On a few of them, wool felt scraps, I had tucked away.

1st one I did, with the whole large die of Folk Flowers.
Didn't like the placement, (a bit high).

Moving the whole die down, and putting a bandaid on the bottom,
so as not to cut holes where I didn't want them,
I ran the top (Pinefeather) through my die cutter.

Much better!
A few seed beads dress it up a bit.

Decorated the inside corner with a red bloom.

It was so easy doing them from now on!

Melon Berry, Terracotta Tile, & Aqua Mist.

This one in plum & white wool felt (my stash), & Scarlett Jewel.

Inside

Love the Sweet Blush felt with the plaid.

Inside with a single bloom.

And a look at the open purses, with a bit of detailing in each corner.

Honestly, when you find a design you like, it's hard to stop!
And setting up an assembly line, you move rather quickly.

Hope you've enjoyed a peek at my 'labor day'.
And hope yours was just as crafty!

Since the dies I used (PTI's Sewing Staples: Floral Clusters) was a
NBUS, also entering this post in Darnell's Challenge'
where it's 'anything goes'.

Coin purse and card, NBUS Challenge#7

Love playing along with Darnell Knauss, and her NBUS challenge,
#7, anything goes,

Made a card and coin purse to house a gift card for
a friend's birthday.

Haven't used this darling cake from PTI called Colorful Treats.
During it's release, Erin Lincoln did the cake in chocolate with an aqua icing.
Loved it, but colored mine in raspberry, then added pink german glass glitter.
Glossy accented the dollop of cream.
Also added the Cover Plate: Awning as Erin did on her card, doing mine in
Raspberry Fizz and Stormy Sea.

Just ordered the dies for the Coin Purse (PTI), and love it!
A 'NBUS' for me,
So many possibilities,
can't wait to do more in other color combos.
This one in Canyon Clay, Smoky Shadow, and Vintage Cream.

It holds a gift card.

Decorated with Sewing Staples: Sewing Clusters,
and an aqua button from PTI's Vintage Holiday Mix.

12 Kits of Occasions August '16 'Sweet Pea'

It's time for 12 Kits' post, and this month we were
blessed with this kit from Lisa Elton from mypapertales!
She called her kit, 'Sweet Pea', and it lived up to the title!
Pinks, soft limey greens, and gold. And simply the sweetest
stamped images from a set I found out she designed!

Hope your coffee's handy, and you're comfy, I have lots to show you!

The scalloped edged paper is die cut from Make It Market Nostalgic Notions,
otherwise everything is from the kit. I created the button flower centers
by cutting circles from her pattern paper, and glossy accenting them.

Lisa designed these pea pods! Aren't they the sweetest? So perfect to copic color, and the sweet doll is from Pure Innocence.

Popped up the window frame and a few of the pea pods.
Don't you love those iridescent sequins?!

Lots of princess pink & gold!

The green dot tag had the pretty ribbon wrapped around it.
I cut Lisa's sweet pea flower from PTI Tag Sale #10.

Gold Foil paper was cut with PTI's Coverplate Circles, the rest, including the felt flower was included in the kit.

Waltzingmouse Pretty Circles die,
'sweet' embossed PTI Strawberry Patch Sentiments.

Cuttlebug Simple Flowers embossing folder, and PTI's Trememdous Tags,
All the rest Lisa provided in this month's fabulous kit.

Don't miss seeing what the other 12 kits designers did with their kits.
Sure to be wonderful!

Beautiful Day

Altenew has a challenge on their blog for the month of August.

Flamingos!

My Altenew August order included Bamboo Rose and their
Red Sunset ink cubes.
I stamped the roses several times using masks, on watercolor paper,
and watercolored the roses using the wonderful shades of Blush, Rouge,
Velvet & Crimson ink cubes.
The legs of the flamingos, and the tree trunks inspired the striped strip
on the bottom. The glittered card stock, the glassy water.
Glass Effect Gel, Blackberry, by Viva dots.
Getting this one in under the wire!

Heart on Fire

MIM this week with Dawn, and Ombre Cluster Stamping.
Dawn carefully demonstrates a lovely method for creating
the ombre look with our stamps.

Started my stamping with Leave It Be in Americana,
graduated to Terracotta Tile, then Orange Zest, Canyon Clay,
Summer Sunrise and finally Harvest Gold.
Sentiment from Art With Heart in Americana.

Foam mounted on Americana card.
Just had to add a few rainstones!
Very ready for fall, and fall weather. It helps the cooling to create a card
with a fall theme, don't you think?

August 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

It's time for PTI's August Blog Hop, and Nichole
has given us this photo for inspiration this month,

Ink Blending was one suggestion to use, and the colors... soft pastels,
with a touch of navy!

I love to layer, it's one of the joys I get from card making. And I took inspiration
from the layers of color, and the metal on the paintbrushes.

Square frame from Don't Forget to Write.
Had a bunch of die cuts left, so did a second card.

Background was ink sponged with Melon Berry,
then embossing paste applied with the leaf stencil from Garden Gate.
Combination of translucent, metallic gold & metallic silver ep. (Wendy Vecchi)
Circle frame die from Don't Forget to Write
Stamps & Dies: Give Thanks, Paper Clippings: Thankful for You,
Mum's the Word,  Inspired: Blessings.
PTI Inks: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Melon Berry, Americana,
Stormy Sea, & Enchanted Evening.
A few clear sequins and rainstones to finish.
Did I mention, I love to layer?

Can't wait to see the gorgeous creations all lined up this month,
a sea of pinks and oranges, with a hint of navy!
