MIM #103

All sorts of fun going on at PapertreyInk this week, it's their 6th anniversary.Check it out!
It's MIM #103 The Die Cut Double-Up
Betsy Veldman shows us how to use negative space on top of positive and decorate the whole thing with stamping. Or is it positive on negative?
The designers at Papertrey are brilliant at inspiration!
Shepherd Ryan Penir was born in June of 2012. He is the 10th grandchild in a family that just happens to love and adore their own! (Probably talking to a lot of loving mommys and grandmas out there)
This will be his Valentine
Melissa Phillips is my go-to gal for ways to use those irrisistable papers that you get and then don't know how to use them to their max.
Started with the paper, and used it's colors for My Papertrey cardstock die cut Mat Stack #7.
Stamped and colored Background Basics: Stripes on the Aqua Mist layer. and a few white stripes on the Hibiscus Burst layer. (He's still too young to not allow me to use pink!)
That fabulous die comes with a card and card holder which was die cut with Little Hot Rod,
(through 3 layers), and the little hot rod die cut stamped and colored with a copic.
The red road is from Sew Simple Borders.
Couldn't waste those sweet hearts from my die cuts, (heart border die and Heart-2-Heart #11cut out of the bottom of Tag Sale #5). PTI ribbon.
Closeup of how everything is popped up.
Seriously, is he the cutest love muffin?
Yup, he's a big one, 10lbs at birth. We grow 'em big out west!
Happy Anniversary Papertrey!

  1. The combination of Shep and your card is a delightful sight today! I LOVE how you used the negative space with its own pattern. And the colors are precious. GREAT JOB!

  2. Sheperd as well as your card - both are precious and lovely! Good thinking of you to use that much pink and red on his card ... might be one of your last chances to do so! :-) Love the hot rod image.

  6. So cute, and what a big guy. I did not know you had 10 grandchildren, almost catching up to me. You are blessed. You are also blessed with a very creative hand. Love this card Nancy! I think Shepherd will too. Hugs

  8. What a cute little boy! He absolutely loved this card! When he saw the car, his first words were, "NUUNNN NUNNNN!" He threw it on the floor, as I gasped, and started pushing it around the kitchen,"NUNNN NUNNN!", hoping it would sprout real wheels. HA! I snatched it up and handed him a hotwheel... sneeky sneeky.
