MIM#115 Beyond Paper with Impression Plates

Heather Nichols takes us to the hardware store with this week's challenge at PapertreyInk.
She used a foil tape and impressed it.
My Sweetie is a retired contactor, so I quizzed him about leftovers he's put away in our garage/blackhole. Sure enough, no trip to Lowe's for me! He had a whole role.
Got out my cuttlebug folders and had a ball.
Did 2 cards for this challenge. 1st one, not so thrilling, seemed like I tried too hard. (Why does that never work?)
The tape is die cut with The Twist Impression plate. Needed another Mother's Day card, so went with The Sweet Life stamps and dies.
Ocean Tides cardstock, and pretty paper from The Secret Garden.
Heart Border die, and Happy Mother's Day from Mother embossed on a PTI baner.
Aleene's Paper Glaze is applied to the whites of the roses, and along the edges of the leaves.
And because I can never leave these alone, vintage lace edging along the side.
The whole card would have been better with a white lattice, I think, but a challenge is a challenge is a challenge...

Card 2: Better

The industrial foil just screams teen birthday.
My grandson turns 'big 13' next month. This will be his card.
The tape was first cut with Wine Bottle Tag die, then empressed with a cuttlebug folder.
Be very careful at this point, the foil is a trickster. I cut the wine tag with a piece of cardstock to mount my foil on. Keeps it manageable.
By the Numbers 13, popped up on a die cut white shimmer circle, and that popped up on a pinked sea shimmer circle. Across the top is a star border die cut from copper shimmer paper.
The new shimmer paper is a favorite! Ordered the sampler, but I can see a need for buckets of certain colors!
As you know, there are times when the card angels are aiding. That happened to me as I embossed the "yay!" onto this card. Ah, sweet times!
All mounted onto sapphire shimmer paper (LOVE!)
Might just do a few more, went a little crazy with the foil tape!
Heather, thank you!
