Harvey and Me

Anybody else head over heels with Tim Holtz' newest release? Love, love love,
Harvey. He's a sweet, petite soldier guy, you can colorize any way you like. And
I like! So much do I like Harvey, I did 3 cards, and plan to do more.

Harvey can be dressed and festooned, with or without eyes and a mustache, boots, gold, boots,
any color, and anything else you want to add.

Harvey no. 1 is dressed in bright red. And I borrowed the idea of putting him in front of
TH's iron gates, from one of the TH designers, which are really for Halloween, but are so
darn clever I couldn't resist.
The background, ah yes, the background. Well, I don't know what it is. I found the
embossed panel in my stash, rubbed pine oxide ink over it, then lightly rubbed copper
paste over the lifted images.
The banner is a combo of TH Deck the Halls and a leftover banner from the
Greetery (Joy to the World?)

Card 2, features Harvey on a swag built with dies from Holiday Brushstroke 3.
All over Tree Rings EF. Let me just say, this panel started off white. Then rubbed
with Oxide Inks until I was happy.

Harvey no. 3 took me the longest. I don't know, every thing I did just didn't
see to come together. I was finally happy with this version.
Here's the recipe:
Background: TH Layered Plaid, which is 3 dies
Oval: Memory Box
Background in pink: TH Pine Branches

Candy Cane & Presents: TH Santa's Helper

and Tree: Twig & Stump

thanks for hanging in, hope you enjoyed!

The Card Concept: Make It Masculine

Welcome to a new challenge at the Card Concept, this time it's Make It Masculine.

Our inspiration photo is of a pillow with all the masculine vibes you need.
I was inspired by the color swatches, animals, and nature for my Clean
and Layered card.

The critters are from Stamplorations' 'You Are my Tribe stamp and die set.
They're mounted on The Greetery's Wood Slices.
The panel is from Spellbinders, and the masculine paper is Poppystamps.

Father's Day is around the corner, and it's always nice to have a few masculine
cards in your stash!

The Card Concept: Cozy Cabin

Hello, friends! Welcome to the a challenge at The Card Concept.
Our inspiration photo is clean and simple, and full of pattern.

I took my inspiration from the colors.

Plenty of pattern on my Clean and Layered card, with the inspiration colors as my
muse, and a birthday theme.

The tiny envelope holds a birthday greeting, and is removable.

The red clothespin holds it in place.

One more birthday card for the stash, always like to have plenty on hand!

Hope you are inspired to pick a style and join the fun! See you in the lineup!

The Card Concept: Rustic Holiday

Welcome! We're featuring a new challenge at the Card Concept, Rustic Holiday.

So much inspiration in this photo! And Julie has given us colors as well.

My card features all Poppystamps dies and cardstock today.

The Magical snowflake was embossed several times to mimic the tin snowflake in the
upper right corner.

Hope you play along. We love seeing your take on the inspiration!

Have a great week!

Fresh For You

Just finished another week of grands, before they start school. 3 under the age of 10 and
3 in their teens. It's been nonstop, from morning 'till night.
But today was goodby in the morning, and time to play in the craft cave! Yay!
It's my first time to play with Betsy's mason jar, and sunflower dies. I wasn't able to
get the jar on release night, and Betsy let me know when it was restocked, so I
couldn't wait to order it! I've just drooled over each and every card
all of you have done!

The sunflowers all began cut from white cardstock and Copic colored. I LOVE how full of
dimension they become when layered together!
Next came the much waited for jar... what color to make my mason jar?

The jar is a 3 step process of stamping, and I decided to try to give my new treasure an
inking from 3 different companies, PTI, Catherine Pooler and Altenew.
I also left off the firststep on a few to create a clearer jar in each color way.
It's a great way to spend an afternoon,
just a favorite stamp set, a misti, and colorful inks! (you can't see it, but each color is
listed on the back of each stamped jar). I also drew in a few stems with colored pencils.
The jar is actually the brighter pink in the first picture.

The sunflowers closeup, and you can see all the layers, and color possibilities.
Blue sunflowers? Why not!

Have to say, the new Crimped Frame die is a favorite. I made my background paper
from Poppystamps: Picnic Plaid, an all over stamp.
It helps to have a juicy ink pad for all over
coverage. The pink is CP It's A Girl, and the greens are CP Melon Ice and
Altenew Limeaid.

With the exception of laundry, I have no other plans for the rest of the day~ Bliss!

A Blessed Season

Ashley has us creating patterned frames for our cards, this week, on Make It Monday.
Her card was so beautiful on several levels. Her colors were dramatic, and the
layers were definitely speaking to me.
So those 2 inspirations were my starting point.

My patterned frame was made with plaid builders on Pale Peony cardstock.
Behind that is Scallop Stackers Small. When that is cut, it leaves the center
whole, or in my case solid red. I opened it up with the oval from Scalloped
A2 Die Collection, almost a perfect opening cut.
Seasonal Borders: Winter formed my swag. The many pieces in the set
allow for all kinds of design. I can't wait to make a wreath with the holly
and berries!

Sentiment: Penned Elegance Christmas.

Play along with Ashley on PTI's blog!

With Joy

Mid week, blogging friends, and playing along with
Merry Monday, a Christmas card challenge, with this inspiration:

Plaid!
I love plaid! Any plaid, so I have lots of plaid paper.
But couldn't find one that I wanted to use,
so I made my own with PTI's Plaid Builder.
Let me just say, much easier with my misti!

Loop de Loop border die provided my 'trim'.
What the Doodle: Tea Time
Spruce & Sprigs
Tiny Tags

I  die cut the tea cup from shimmer card stock, but it's hard to photograph.
Also added red glitter stickles to the heart.

A few more days to play!
Thanks for the visit, and happy crafting!
