Paper Sweeties August Release Party!

We're having a party at Paper Sweeties!

Today is the day we celebrate our 2nd Birthday!

And Paper Sweeties is celebrating in a BIG way with

This shaker card uses stamps and dies from 3 of the new sets:

Be Happy, Party Time and Hello Friend.

Paper Sweeties August Release Countdown!

We're counting down at Paper Sweeties! 

Tomorrow is the big day these new stamps and dies will be released!

Today I'm showcasing 2 stamps and their coordinating dies from a set called Party Time.

The sentiment is from one of the other new sets called 

Hello Friend

The sweet rose image is perfect for inking and spritzing for a nifty watercolor look.

The leaves were first die cut, then brushed with water, before adding the ink.

The PS Cotton Candy bakers twine puts the finishing touch!

MIM #176: Backgrounds with Embossing Paste

Make It Monday with Laura Bassen! Her video premier, and was she great!

This was my 3rd attempt. The first 2 are further smeared in the recycler!

Festive Friday Challenge #37

It's been a while since I've played along with Festive Friday, 

but I chanced along there and found this inspiration:

And it spoke to my vintage loving heart!

That, and, Ardyth's beautiful gold edged card.

For those of you who like stories, read on,

for those who don't skip the next paragraph!

Back in the day of rubber stamps (real rubber you mount yourself)

I fell for a stamp included on a sheet of mountable stamps with 3 little tykes on a sleigh from Oxford Impressions.

I have 3 grandsons who are close in age and best friends since birth.

So are the granddaughters, but, that's another story...

Any how, I used this stamp for my Christmas cards that year.

I just had to play along, 

with the vintage truck and pine trees all snow-covered, 

and it's 100 outside,

who could resist!

Some special touches on the card include:

PTI's Scarlett Shimmer Cardstock, Linen Vellum, Stamper's Sellect White 

and that gorgeous gold tape.

The challenge at the Card Concept this week is to create a wedding card,

using this photo as inspiration:

Tweeking the colors a bit to use all 3 of Betsy Veldman's floral and leaf stamps 

in her Beautiful Brushstrokes set,

I went with a watercolor look.

Spritzed my stamp image, when inked, and added rainstones from the

Make It Market Kit: Shakers and Sprinkles

(Use those jewel-like drops sparingly 'cuz I never want to be without them!)

All PTI products (inks, card stocks, and Hemp Cord)

MIM #175 Creative Card Borders Using Non-Border Dies

I just love Dani's tutorial on creating borders with non-border dies.

This morning I went visiting, and enjoyed a look see at Joyce M.'s blog,

Cards-by-the-Sea 

She treats us to a post of 4 cards, and one that's in the MIM lineup

this week, using Topiary Trio as the border for her card.

What a wonderful network of talent we share, we who love

cards and treating them as art!

I don't say enough how much inspiration I glean from all of you!

Whenever the well runs dry, I go visiting...

and end up full of new ideas!

August is an anniversary of sorts. 

3 years ago I started a blog.

And a hobby/obsession/love for all things paper!

Thank you to all who fill my days with joy!

You know who are... if I've ever commented on your creation, YOU have brought me joy!

So, Happy Anniversary to me,

and here's another card for MIM, a card for my daughter-in-law, celebrating a bd this month.

Couldn't help using Topiary Trio, just like Joyce did!

but it took most of the afternoon to get what I wanted,

but I didn't.

MIM #174 Diamond Wallpaper Stamping... again

Take 2 of creating Diamond Wallpaper Stamping.

This time with Lovely Layers.

I stamped my wallpaper with Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist & Terracotta Tile,

creating a pattern.

A very BUSY pattern! Toned it down with some stitched vellum before adding

my medallion.
