12 Kits of Occasions: August

Welcome to the 12 Kits of Occasions August post!
Today it's all about 'leaves', and our hostess, Marybeth Lopez,
(marybethstimeforpaper) gifted her teammates with leaves of hope
for a much needed fall!

As you probably know, we in California have been in a firestorm lately, and can't wait
for cooler wetter weather. I pray every day for those whose lives are on the line
fighting these awful fires.

Marybeth included a wood grained pattern paper in pastels, and I think I
used everyone for my cards!

I loved the large Altenew letters spelling out 'HUGS' and used an Altenew stamp
to decorate them.

Bold leaves to frame a scripture verse

And another scripture, with a bouquet and bow from the Greetery.

The other designers are sure to wow with inspiration, be sure to
visit them, and spread a little love while you're there!

  1. Nancy, I don't know how you hit the ball out of the park every month with how you use these amazing kits. Your cards are gorgeous!! I love how you used color, patterns and design to create such envelope sized works of art. Your framed scripture cards are inspiring and filled with words of hope and comfort. I hope you are well away from and safe from the fires.

  2. WOW!!! Five absolutely FABULOUS cards Nancy! Each one is a masterpiece and I just LOVE how you took such simple elements and totally made them your own with all the extra stamping and special touches!! Seems like I am always picking my jaw up off the floor when I come to visit your blog and this time is no exception!! Love, LOVE your 1st card with all the gorgeous layers and water coloring and your 2nd card too with the shaker element through the small square leaf...both absolutely beautiful!! And your scripture cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Thinking about you lots with all those wildfires and praying you and your family all stay safe!! Hugs. :0)

  3. I am hoping the fires and smoke are much better for you by now, it’s been so hot! I know my son in law is headed home today after many weeks fighting the fires.Looks like another hot one coming up , but i feel a bit of fall with the cooler nights.
Five beautiful cards Nancy....Love the beautiful peak into the blended leaves on the first card and the beautiful fall colors on the last. Take care!

  4. So many clever things I love here.. the die cut windows to frame the sentiments, the inky shading you added .. no one does color quite like you.. it's candy for my eyes. I hope you're being safe and that your crafting is a quiet reprieve for you. Hugs and love to you!

  5. So vibrant and all so pretty Nancy! I love the opening you die cut in the woodgrain paper on your first one with the leaves tucked inside! Praying for relief in your weather and the fires. Be safe and be well XO

  6. Wow....5 simply stunning creations!!! Love how you take these kits and create simply amazing cards. Love that tiny window that turned into a gorgeous fall card, so beautiful! Really love them all. Hope you and your family are doing well with regard to the fires. So happy you love your mermaid masks, makes me smile!!!!

  7. Delightful use of the woodgrain panels and various die cuts! The window card over the black and white panel is my favorite today! Your area has been in my prayers. Finally heard that friends were able to return home in north Napa area.

  8. Nancy a beautiful collection of cards using Marybeth's kit, I am still waiting on mine but I have gotten lots of ideas of how to use it once it arrives! Hope you are doing alright and that the fires are not affecting you too much, sending prayers to CA.

So happy you came for a visit. I love reading your comments!
