The Greetery: Nouveau Notes Collection

Greetings friends, from a very smokey valley, this Tuesday morning. Fires north and

south, and we're in the middle... my heart is with those fighting the fires, many in

over 100 degree temperature. 

Meanwhile, joy in the craft room. 💕

I purchased the Greetery's Nouveau Notes Collection, and also a foil Glimmer Machine to

add foiling to my cards. Don't know why I resisted foiling until now, but after watching 

Lori Willison's You Tube video, I was won over!

This is how I roll... learning my tool through trying every foil color on just about every

cardstock color. Btw, Betsy's Hot Foil Deco Plate worked perfectly every time!

The first card I did was a birthday card with the use of the stencil set included in the kit.

The Greetery's Lookbook is such a help! I kept referring to the designer's color

and design choices to decide what to use.

Another birthday card using pink glimmer cardstock and copper foil.

The photo corner dies were cut from copper and navy cardstock.

The card set I did includes 6 cards, and 6 matching envelopes, which fit perfectly in the

 note card box.

The note cards are foiled with copper foil onto Pale Peony (PTI) cardstock.

The Floral Delicacy bough is a multi-stamp affair, that lines up and stamps easily. 

I added copics for further detail. The single jewel from Memory Box (Open Studio)

fits perfectly within the diamond.

The 6 notecards and envelopes fit easily inside the completed box. I love that Betsy

added the dotty detail around the cutout!

Watching Norine Buoys' video on constructing the card box helped immensely. She

has a few tricks, like adding a lining to hide the line between the flap and box.

I'm on a waiting list for the magnets, they're currently sold-out in the shop.

Meanwhile, I found some similar at Hobby Lobby. Not on line but in the shop. Don't 

like them as well as the Greetery's, but I hid them inside the box and behind a flower.

Well, it's back to crafting, very glad I have a few new stamps and dies to play with.

Boho Banner Trio

Playing with The Greetery's Boho Banner, and made 3 cards.

I love that Betsy has a 'Lookbook' with every release!

Found this card by one of the designers, unfortunately don't know which one. 

This is the designer's card, using a stamped background with Sketchbook Roses.

Don't you just love the placement of the stamped roses and leaves? Me too!

I used a white ink on basic grey for the background.

3 cards came together quickly with the help of my Misti.

I added cutouts of Macrame Borders and Tassels on each of the 3 cards.

The birthday card is embossed with silver. All 3 sentiments from Opposites Attract.

I doubled the fringe on this card, and dipped my feathers in silver emboss.

It's been awhile since I played with this set, it's so versatile, and packs a 'wow' 

with banner sentiment!

Well now, what do you do with several leftover die cuts from the previous card post?

Make another card!

I had so many pieces from the last Curio card, (told you, it took most of the day

to create the card!), that I just had to make another. This time with dark blue

cardstock for my frame. I applied clear embossing powder for a sheen.

I'm kinda obsessed with the vignettes, and love creating individual backgrounds for

each one.

The floral bouquet is stamped from the Holding Hands set, the 'greens' from

All Blessings Flow. And of course the stamped stamp from Pretty Postmarks.

Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but in my previous post I put the hinges on backward. 

Just had to show, they were removed and glued on proper! Honestly, I'm married to 

a builder, and my son is a woodworker... please don't tell them! All's well now and hinges 

look right.

Hi there! Finally got a day to play with the Greetery's Curio set, and it took me

most of the day to complete this card. There's many pieces, once you combine the

sets, and I kept playing with ideas, die cuts, and colors.

The details in the the sets are wonderful! What you choose to include in your curio

is your choice.

A front view shows the my curio closed, with elements of summer collecting.

My curio 'opens', and has a butterfly on the outside as well as on the inside. There's even

a bee in a bottle. Such adorable details! The door idea was 'borrowed' from Norine Hope's

release card. 

Such fun to make. More of a showpiece than a card to send, but it does fit an A2 envelope.

I have so many pieces left over,  I think I'll make one more! Hope #2 goes quicker!

Serene Scene

 

I'm having more fun with this Sizzix die set, making #2 Christmas card, and thinking about

different looks for the shadow box effect.

All die cuts for this card. Every item you see is included in the set, right down to 

the tiny candle greenery.

Hoping this closeup shows the details when you cut out the dies. Eyes on the animals,

details on the tree. The 'woodsy' paper is from Memory Box. 

Once again, an envelope for each card!

Winter Scene

 

Christmas in July greetings to you!

This holiday season promises to be a busy one, and it's always nice to have

a stash of greeting cards ready.

My first Christmas card of the season is this sweet all die cuts shadow box nature scene

from Sizzix, featuring elements that has me longing for cool, quiet days.

I'm a big fan of card and envelope sets, so each Christmas card will have it's own

special stylized one for sending.

This one stenciled with the Greetery's Berry Branch stencil, with some splatters.

The tree is treated with some Shabby embossing powder.

Not putting this die set away just yet, plan to do some more cards in different 

color ways.

Birthday Geraniums

 

Greetings from Central CA, where our temps are just perfect for ripening fruit.

Not so perfect for long walks, outdoor picnics and much needed gardening.

So I'm indoors, crafting, playing with the new Greetery Summer release!

Botanicuts: Geraniums... LOVE! 

Trying the die cuts with watercolors, and kept a loose, let it happen touch.

Here's my technique: Die cut from watercolor cardstock, light spray with water, touch

with paint, it happens!

Once the pieces are dry, you can add deeper color to accentuate the veins, or not,

your choice.

I love to make envelopes special too. And find Betsy's stamps ideal to compliment the

cards. Her style coordinates throughout each release. They work so  well with each

other. Also love having a birthday stash ready to go!

Watercolor tips?

Don't overwork, keep it loose, above all enjoy the process. And, toss what you

don't like! Remember what colors work well together and what create mud, and

you're good to go!

A Jar of Sunshine

 

Hi and hope you're enjoying The Greetery's newest as much as I am.

I had some fun with the Jumbo Jar. It features 3 dies, just perfect for

creating a shaker.

I love how the Container Garden stamps fit perfectly within the Jumbo Jar,

and I paired an older set, Oopsie Daisy with the card.

It's easy to make a card from the jar by positioning the top of the die sandwich so it 

isn't cut. The folded card is then cut twice. You do have to run it through a couple 

of times. The inside dp is from Papertrey, an older linen stripe.

I had the hardest time photographing this set. Couldn't capture the colors, might have

 been the acetate.The matching envelope was first lightly inked with Distress 

Speckled Egg (the background of the card too), and then stamped. 

Betsy includes a color stamping guide, so helpful!

The sweet little bee was cut from yellow cardstock, and filled in with a black 

sharpie. The wings are blue vellum.

Fun card to make, and I hope receive!

A greater reason to stay indoors, and craft!

The Greetery's Summer Release flew across the country and into my mailbox in 2 days!

A reason to celebrate, and another happy reason to stay in the craft room.

Thankfully I have no one in mind for this Get Well card, but the serene scene seemed

perfect for someone on the mend, don't you think?

I'm off to play with some more of the Greetery's treasures from this order. 

Did I mention it's hot outside? Like I said, great excuse to spend the day crafting!
